Flickering line, then screen
|
Hey everyone. My laptop is LG R410. A few weeks ago, a flickering line appeared at the bottom of my screen and then the screen started to flicker. I went to the main repair place and my screen was replaced. A few weeks later, which is now, my screen started to have the same problems again! But they last for a very little while. I immediately shut down the laptop after it happened. Does anyone know what the problem is? It has been very, very stressful for me, especially since I am a student studying overseas and my laptop is everything to me... And since the screen is new, it should not be the problem. Please help! Thanks! 届ã‹ãªãã¦ã‚‚ 追ã„ã‹ã‘㦠|

Did you try asking the personnel of the repair shop that your said the true problem of your laptop or you just ask to replace your screen only? I think there is no problem on your screen at all. Although this might one of the cost, but according to you comment that it was not. The other possible problem that your laptop experiencing are ... 1. The build-in GPU of your Laptop which can be it's extended/shared memory or GPU Chipset. 2. You motherboard itself. 3. The connection for the Screen where it was attach. Those are common possibilities. Try asking the repairman to check if the GPU or motherboard has a defects or meltdown. Better post again so that I can know your action on this problem. |

They did a check (and even took 2 days!! Grrr...) and determined it to be the screen. However, now I think it might be the connection instead. And sadly enough I am only able to go after my exams which is about 2 weeks later. The good thing is that the screen is under warranty for 3 months. The flickering is now intermittent. It appears sometimes and disappears quickly after a while. From what I read on some sites, some listed the problem is a certain white wire. Do you have any idea on what it is? My lappie is working fine other than the problem as mentioned. Thank you for helping!! 届ã‹ãªãã¦ã‚‚ 追ã„ã‹ã‘㦠|

So, the connection is the problem. Try to ask those repair man to distinguish the loss wire connection between your laptop board and the LCD. Be sure that theire is no molds or dirt in both connectors. But sometimes, the problem is when you close your laptop. When you open it, maybe the wire that you're saying might loosen or even miss-align. That is the common problem of a LCD Replaced Laptops causes by incompatibility in connectors or un-align wire connectors. I'm grad that I help someone who's on problem. Thanks for the reply ^_^ |

So does that mean that my LCD does not need to have been replaced in the first place? Because I have a good mind to call up customer service to give my complaints and also fight for a refund, or at least part of it. It happened again today. The entire screen flickered and I did some pressing here and there and it became a line again, then gradually disappeared, reappearing for a very short while sometimes. Thank you! 届ã‹ãªãã¦ã‚‚ 追ã„ã‹ã‘㦠|

I just said it on my first reply that yur screen maybe not the problem but the chipset built inside your motherboard that support the graphics adapter for it. But if you said that it happens again, just go to them and ask for a refund because the problem is occuring again. Do you have the LCD that they changed? If yes, then you can check it if its working fine or not. I even advice you to a Registered LG Electronics Laptop Repair and Dealers Center that is genuine in repairing laptops, not like those laptop repair shop that authorize but not really linked in LG Electronics and not capable of repairing major issues on laptop hardware problems. |
