To Aru Kagaku no Railgun/Majutsu no Index

Currently I'm watching Railgun, should I be watching Majutsu no Index first? Since Railgun is a side story according to Wikipedia. I love the anime though and I highly recommend it to everyone that likes girls with super powers.  |

Meh, they don't really relate at all, at least anime wise. Mikoto and Toma's relationship are so different in both stories. Also how they met are different, too, and how their relationship deepens is different. I was surprised to see him appear in the OP when first watching Railgun's story, and his random appearances kind of kill his character compared to what opened up in Index's story. Definitely can't wait for Index season 2 because there's absolutely no action worth wild in Railgun, although my love for Mikoto has grown so much with her own side story, the main Index story is so much better because there's enemies and better fights. Toma's going to be explained more, too. We'll see if there's an announcement after Railgun's over, we're almost there anyways, although I'll be sad to see it gone it doesn't matter because Index will come back and we know all about Mikoto, but yeah her relationship just immediately switching back over with crushing on Toma in Index's story is weird. Plus there's a bit of a harem going on too in Index, and who doesn't love that? XD If you're talking about anime with girls and super powers, I've seen better, but the series in general (+Index) is nice.

Personally, I'm thinking that the next series will be some "To Aru (whatever) no Accelerator" because he does lose his memories near the end of "Majutsu no Index" and is therefore an accurate parallel to Touma. Then, it'll be "To Aru (whatever) no Imagine Breaker", which will be a sequel story to "Majutsu no Index". Well, that's what I'm thinking.

@ otaku: i dont like spoilers lol but w/e its cool :3 @ devils-angel: thanks for tellin me it doesn't matter wat 1 i watch first, i love Mikoto too but i have only seen part of Railgun and none of Index and i can't wait to see them both! I know there are a lot of animes with girls and super powers like Kämpfer, another of my favorites. if you could suggest some other ones to me that'd be nice :D |

[@otaku] I had a hunch about something like that would possibly happen. They could do one more series since I think Railgun released after Index's season, but then there's going to be the third Shana this year, too, so we'll see. [@Asa] Meh, Kampfer wasn't that good overall, but the series wasn't totally bad. There's way to many to list though (and I just woke up so I'm dozed off). You'll have to look around for now. :D

yeah agreed, Railgun do not have much actions as Index, but i have to say Railgun shows more detail on the relationships between all characters throughout the story. As for Index, characters seems to have not shown again on other episodes when their part is finished so relationships is a bit somehow apart..? lol Misaka rocks, i love it when she does her lightning, she is so undefeated by anyone :3    |

Index was just a start of it all. Railgun's side story focused more on her life, so yeah you'd see better relationships between characters. It's getting really close for it to end though, but I hope there's another series either this upcoming Spring or Summer. If they do have something for Toma, it'll be sick.

Ugh, it's been a while. The one church is after Index, right? I forget. But damn, that's sweet as hell. I thought there were seven level 5's? Or was it 5 (including Mikoto). Were those her parents in the bottom right group!? O.o` Touma's group is cool. XD Accelerator's out, so there's other level 5's still, but he was said to have been the strongest... Yeah, Index is definitely just a stepping stone for more intense stuff to come, damn, this gets me excited.

| Index is the primary series, Railgun is a side story. Like most side stories, you aren't going to fully enjoy Railgun without seeing Index first, since Railgun doesn't take the time to actually introduce you to the series like Index does. |

Yeah I know that, I guess Railgun was only to give some gap to make the next addition in the series, but still though the action for this series is what I'm interested, but I still LOVE Mikoto! They did a good job give the comparison though, I think people could still get interested in Index after watching Railgun since it was a regular anime. Excluding the part with power abilities and whatnot, it's almost like a regular slice-of-live anime, because Mikoto's relationship with Toma is almost restarted.

OMG!! Season 2 is confirmed, with Index and Mikoto returning and what do you know, a PSP Game will be released for it too!!! Hell yeah now i'm really excited. |
