What does motivation depend on?
What strengthens this quality thing many people need?

Well. . .I would have to say maybe like Encouragement, because its' something that just echoes in your conscience when someone cheers you on or when someone compliments you. It makes you want to continue doing what you're doing if its' a good deed.

And yes, maybe it does take Inspiration. I agree with that as well.

Encouragement, perseverance, confidence, inspiration
and insults(applies to people who take insults psychologically reversed).

I think that a person's will to succeed plays it's own part in his motivation (and maybe even the thought of being recognized by the people around him).

if everyone devalues your work there will be no motivation whatsoever
you need someone by your side all the time
if you're all alone the only motivation you'll have is how to comit suicide the best way T_T

I think Motivation runs on what the person themselves really need like
Excitement, Feel the Rush, and such
for me my runs on admiration and encouragement by a "certain someone" whom I respect and
taught me many things like to have a Strong Will so that I won't be such a whiny
person from time to time, know how to have fun, etc, etc

Motivation is usually brought on by a person not wanting something to happen. Usually a fear of not succeeding in something else, and having to do whatever to make things right. Motivation happens because of a lot of things though, not just fear. There's a pro and a con to every action anyone does, so motivation is just the willpower to accomplish something in response to something else. The downside to taking out the trash would be having to interrupt the current task at hand, even if there isn't one. Donating to charity; you'd be down a few dollars, and maybe a gallon of gas, in which you'd have to go to the station. People more than often base things on negative results, and weigh those on whether or not they would rather let that happen to them.

Please send me a message with a link if you're responding to one of my forum posts. I usually don't go back to my posts once I've made them, and I refuse to subscribe to X# of threads. Thanks in advance.

Yeah motivation only comes from a conscience calculation that an action will somehow result in something you want. And let's face it, we always go for the things we truly want.

(in my opinion though)
Motivation is like an impulse that drives you further to explore more on something and doing something better because the impulse says : "You can do better than this"
For example, you got a job from a company, and that excitement and impulses that want you to become better has been triggered. Both mind and heart tell you,in the future,i will work like what i have always used to think and be what i want to be,and thus it becomes your interest to keep you moving, also known as your motivation that keeps you going to the phrase which you have no idea how you are going to work out,but you will eventually because you said so.

i would say,if an environment or specifically something that has trigger your specific impulse, and there it comes, which is your motivation to give you courage and move on.

So..to say that..motivation relies on something..it all depends on yourself
you will determine something that will trigger your 'impulse' and motivate yourself to move on
(no offense)
