It will be held this Saturday and Sunday, and I think it will be held at Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore. AFA 2009 Official Site Dates : 21st-22nd November, I think it starts at around 10am? o.O So yeaps. Just informing/reminding anyone who's going. :D   |

Most likely will be going to the event. Well sucks that Animax didn't call me on this event. But, oh well $20 for entrance fees isn't much of a big deal.     |

Holy god yeah it's cheap, 20$ for a weekend pass!? The friggin' Video Game Expo (some sort of anime stuff too?) was like 25$ a day or like twice as much weekend pass. My friends did the 'you-go-in-then-give-me-your-wrist-band' deal, lol. K-On experience sounds interesting...

@DA, the price went up a whole lot truth be told. AFA 2008 was $5 for a normal pass. But it looks like I'll be getting the weekend pass. I might be able to borrow a camera or a video camera from my school, but I think I might need to check the inventory again, think a couple of SD Cards is missing... |

I think I'll go with the one day entry pass rather than the weekend pass..... I mean, you WILL get bored after a few hours circling the same spots, taking pictures of cosplayers, and so on, and so on... AFA 2008 was great in a way that it provided lots of arcade cabinets so that you won't get bored after a whole day of looking at anime merchandises... hopefully, they'd do the same with AFA 2009 since I'll be pondering in front of the ACs after a few hours of sightseeing for me, 20$ is a 10 days worth of lunch.... and is in no way cheap o.O

Heheh, I was able to borrow a digital camcorder from the school so I'll be recording a couple of things during the event. |

Aw that sucks that its on the other side of te world, I'd go! And that's actualy a great bargain for a ticket. AX was about $35.00 for just one day, not including merchendise bought. So all around that's cheaper. Still wish I could go, wouldnt been a heck of an event!

You know what, Kay... that's a friggin good idea :D AFA 2008 had a "Gaia Online gathering", why not we hold one for Singapore Gendou community in AFA 2010? XD Singapore is only 700km square, with tons of anime lovers who -I assume- go to Gendou to download their music. Maybe we can attract people to be active in the forums if we make a gathering? :D

Uh...I was just joking. But we might be able to do it? It sounds interesting XD. Anyways, I just got home, nope, didn't went for the concert, too crowded. I took 200++ pics but most are the displays. Can't really find much good cosplayers and I took a video, which needs editing since there's some useless parts or random footage XD. I did went to Moe Moe Kyun cafe, just buy drinks but a friend of mine bought a set meal for 25 bucks. There's stuff I wanted to buy (crap that Nagato figure!! Argh!! Saber!!) but...I just have no cash so I didn't get any. Oddly though, the number of people buying wooden Zanpakuto was amazing, I turn left and right you could see Tensa Zangetsu almost everywhere. There's already a shop in suntec that sells real katanas, might as well get it there... I'll post some images here. My friend's friend cosplayed as Mio from K-on and was kidnapped a few times XD. |

I know that you're just joking Kay, but if you think over it again, it is possible, and sounds interesting right? :D I just got back home at 11.00... was there from 3 to 10.45 PM, and here's my short report I was quite disappointed at this year's AFA to be honest..... the booths are more attractive than 2008 but there are less interactive zones and THERE ARE NO ARCADE CABINETS..... not to mention that the stuffs are very expensive and there are no freebies (except that StormLion shopping bag)... A buster sword replica for $100? Canned coffees with EVA illustrations at $3/can? o.O so after a few rounds of taking pictures of the hallways, the crowds, and the cosplayers, circling the auditorium over and over...... I stayed at the karaoke booth, which thankfully made it up for the arcades :) Stayed at the karaoke booth for more than 3 hours, joining the crowd to sing and listening to people singing "God Knows" over and over for god knows how many times (no pun intended)..... The crappy part is that the good songs are copyrighted and cannot be chosen, leaving us with a bunch of popular songs like Macross Frontier's and Suzumiya Haruhi's, and of course the Gundam themesongs from the first gundam to 00...... But there's this girl who actually sang that Tasukete Erin song from Touhou (don't know much, is not familiar with Touhou)... They said that she's one of the AFA bosses and had memorized the song number so that she can sing it even though it's not in the songlist (since you must enter a specific combination of numbers to access the song) If any of you guys passed by there, and see this guy singing with a very high-pitched, crappy attempt to copy a female voice, singing "moment" (Gundam SEED) solo, voicing both vivian's and kazuma's part... that's me XD Nighttime is better by far, The concert hall isn't covered entirely with curtains, so there's this big opening where people watch the concert from the normal hall, near the stage XD no need to stand so far away from the screen on the concert hall and you have the chance to take pictures (or record) of the maids from maid cafe while they are practicing their dance, some of the staffs also took pictures XD but of course, after the dance finished, the head security came back and, "Sorry, no cameras allowed" after that, the maids are going for the last karaoke session, which was like a mini concert already. One of them sang "Seikan Hikou" (Macross Frontier) and her voice is pretty good, not to mention that she perfectly copied the dance o.O The maids are not just looks, they are really professional performers. Kudos to them, really but still, the best part of the day is that my friend found a lost ticket when we were on our way home, and gave it to me since he bought the two days pass.... That means free entrance for tomorrow!!! Buying only a single student ticket ($12) for two days entrance? Now that's what I call a good deal :D I wonder if we can ask the doujin artists to draw an anime image of ourselves? Anyone knows? I forgot to ask them (wasted too much time on karaoke) but IIRC, a special illustration costs you $15 o.O
