The Sacred Blacksmith

I looked back for 10 pages, way before this anime started, and didn't find any
kind of thread for it — So I decided I'd make one for this new fall anime I just started!

Plot Summary: As the newest head of the prestigious Campbell household, young
Cecily Campbell is following family tradition by becoming a Knight Guard of
the Independent Trade City of Housman and taking up the family sword. While
being attacked by a crazed veteran knight, she was saved by Luke, the Sacred
Blacksmith. Alongside Lisa, his assistant, Luke has the power to forge
powerful katanas capable of defeating the so feared demons. Demons which could
once again bring the world close to an end.

Anyway, Episodes 1-3 are really amazing. Episode 4 is coming out this Saturday,
and I gotta say it's looks like this will be an awesome series. Like my prolly
top-rated anime, Chrome Shelled Regios, this too is based off a Light Novel Series!

Also, Luke may be one of the best characters to come around in awhile. He reminds
me alot of Li from Cardcaptor Sakura, but is really in a league of his own ~

The most controversial first episode (for sword expert or collectors...) this season

superior katana hell yeah

So i'm not the only one relating this to regios. Lol i somehow felt that luke and layfon are similar although the personality is very different. Just because the hair maybe?

Rofl, their hair certaintly matches up — as is the fact they are most likely
the strongest in their respective series. Personality though, near polar opposites.

And yeah, I almost LOL'd when I saw that Katana just own the broadsword. This anime
will certaintly try to portray Katana as the superior swords to western swords,
HOWEVER, It appears Aria ( The Demon Sword ) takes the form of a well .. Maybe Rapier?

I didn't think it was a broadsword or longsword, or anything like that. It may
turn out to be the strongest weapon in the series if used correctly.

Oh, and also, both Luke and Layfon are master's of Katana's. A rare thing in both series apparently.

OH WHOA THAT KATANA IS WIN!!! XD

this anime is in my to-watch-list. and since you guys are relating it to regios as well...this will be much interesting *_*

Lol yeah, that Katana is indeed win; as is the person using it, Luke Ainsworth.

You should certaintly check it out — though know I relate it to Regios because
of the similarities in look and skill with Luke and Layfon, and also the fact
it's based off a light novel series just like Regios. Other then that though,
Sacred Blacksmith is highly original and seems to really have a unique style and story.

You are commanded to watch at least episode 1 and 2 , Fufufu ~ :|

online. Rather then Download anime, you should just watch it online like myself.

That way, even with a somewhat bad connection, you can let the stream load for a bit
then watch it once it's done. I watch all my anime online; never download :O

lol So far, I've only watched first and 2nd episode.
The anime looks promising. I shall watch this til the end.
I agree that Katana is win! XD

(But I believe that's the same katana that got destroyed later on the 1st episode right? o_o; or on 2nd episode? lol I can't remember XDD)

Lmao, welcome to the love of Sacred Blacksmith, Shin ~

And Luke carries his normal Katana, and then forges the Katana capable of fighting
the demons through the aid of Lisa. So the katana's that break aren't his normal
one, but rather the ones that are suppose to break at their limit.

Episode 4 was really good, but I'll wait to talk about it until you guys see it ~

I might watch that anime. . .since i'm a fan of Chrome shelled regios

Well, the CSR reference is mainly the fact Luke and Layfon are strong, use katana,
same look sorda, and also the fact both series are based off light novels.

But no matter the reason, be sure to check it out; one of the better this season! :D

Anyway, Imma touch on episode 4 in more detail now, so SPOILERS coming your way!

As expected, Aria and Cecilly have joined up and are now an actual team. With that,
you can argue she has become as strong as Luke in overall power – but he still
outmatches her in skill by a long shot. Plus, I still think Luke is alot more
powerful in overall power as well; even though Cecilly has the demon sword.

Another thing is, I enjoyed Cecilly showing she would fight to protect those
around her, even kill to protect. It showed her will and determination taking
down the demon in the end that was once human ( the same guy she fought in episode 1 ).

I also can't wait to see how Lisa and Cecilly are connected. It's obvious they are
similiar in someway, but I'll liek to see their origins and such explained in detail!

This is really shaping up as a great series ~ ^_^

It really is. Episode 5 was also great, with getting Lisa the attire we see
her in when the ending plays. It was also nice to see in the end how Luke
was pretty soft despite his tough exterior, getting her that cute little hat ~

Made Lisa so happy, so I think those two have a great relationship despite
what Aria and Cecilly thought. Pretty good episode though, but I wonder why it
never shows previews for the next episode? Does make each week a surprise, though!

Re: The Sacred Blacksmith

at last episode 10 is out after an unexpected 2 weeks of waiting Dx

anyways Elsa is very cute, i really like her, though she is gone... ._.
and Lisa, she's a demon omg o.o

the moment i knew that i thought of her blue and purple eye when Luke forge his katana before
same with Luke, his left eye gives that different look
Luke must be some kind of demon too, or supernatural stuff on him

at first i thought Luke was the Valbanill at the end of ep9, because the old man pointed to his direction
who would've thought it's actually Lisa

why did Luke used Valbanill's blood to create Lisa? and for that, the old Lisa had to die
Aria is bound to fight with Lisa no matter what?
again, no previews on the next episode... lol always gives a big surprise XD

Wanted to touch on the ending to this anime, which was pretty epic -- and I can
only hope season 2 comes along, as it's obvious they set it up to happen. I'm
just not sure how popular the anime has been in Japan, but I can only assume pretty high.

By the way, I saw the ending of Luke crafting a weapon for Cecily for that final attack
coming from miles away. It just seemed like everything had been leading to that, rofl.

Re: The Sacred Blacksmith
Link | by on 2010-01-05 18:23:54
the last episode seem kinda pretty rush, i didn't expect it will end like that so suddenly
the story suddenly changed into chaos and all, and Luke just had to do the forging again

i expect a season 2 for this one too, the story is still unclear to be ended

Re: The Sacred Blacksmith

Oh yeah, you could tell the ending came on pretty quick. Most anime I've seen that run 12/13 episodes have rushed endings that sometimes come outta nowhere.

Just how it is; but there is alot left to be disocovered with the story and the
world they are in. The Empire, Valbanill, The Rebels, Demon Swords, etc.

I want to find the light novels translated into english ;_;
