PC Help
|
I've checked around on many websites, forums, and such and I can't seem to get an answer to my issue. Basically, a few months back I brought my PC over to my fathers house and when I brought it back to my mothers, there was something wrong. I logged onto Steam, and it came up like this: Link IE, and everything related to IE, refused to work. Firefox works fine, but other browsers such as Opera also refuse to work. I have no idea what is causing this, and so far everything I've tried hasn't worked out. I tried updating IE and the only difference was the layout of the error page on Steam/IE. Normally I wouldn't care about IE, since I use Firefox and such, but this issue has been making it near impossible for me to do much of anything. I can't patch most games, I can't download MMOs (when they auto patch or update, it fails to connect to server and I can't play). However, I can switch over to the Game tab on Steam and play my games fine. The In-game browser does not work, nor does the Community tab or Store tab. It is very odd to me, and if anyone has any idea what is going on that'd be great. If push comes to shove, I've already made preparations to format it once I finish some school work. Thanks. |

It might be some of the DLL Files (Dynamic Link Library) was missing or corrupted or your OS has corrupted system files. Maybe the fastest way to fix that is to use System Restore. But if you can't fix it with System Restore, better to format your PC and re-install the OS. |

Well for anyone still wondering, I don't know what I did... but I fixed it. Just checked one day and it worked. |
