Rie Fu

Has alone heard of Rie Fu? Typical question I know but I saw her on some Japanese channel a few nights ago and she's SUPPOSED to be one of those rising stars. She sang "Life is Like a Boat" from Bleach and "I wanna Go.." from Gundam Seed I think. She's one of the first Jap singers whom don't have a Jap accent when singing in English; she does this interchangeably in all her songs. None of them are translated though. =/

Hmmm her voice is like the The Indigo's singer "wonder's if they're the same person".

I think that's because Rie Fu has studied in London since she was 19. Well, she's probably 20 or 21 now but if she's been conversing daily with the British, her accent is bound to disappear.

She's really cool; I saw her on TV one day and she was performing 'Life is Like a Boat'. It was pretty satisfying even though there wasn't much 'action'. :)

But whoever wrote the lyrics for "I wanna go to a place..." obviously does not know English well enough, I'm referring to the line in the song that goes "Does it really ok? It's never going to be." I mean, that was just wrong. And while "Life is Like a Boat" is ok, "I wanna go to a place..."'s English part is like they tried to force words into the tune. At certain places when the words can fit into part of the tune Rie Fu just said the words quickly to match the tune which obviously makes it sound bad. Other than that I have nothing against Rie Fu. Obviously whoever wrote her English lyrics is better than the one who wrote English lyrics for BoA's songs such as "Listen to My Heart" and "Every Heart".
But Maaya Sakamoto and Utada Hikaru are still the best Japanese singers when it comes to singing in English.
