I don't personally listen to them, but I knew a lot of people in my tech-ed classes that did (cause of the shirts). What other bands do you listen to? Anything metal, death core, hardcore?

I enjoy listening to Avenged Sevenfold. They aren’t my favourite band but they are close to the top of the list. I love the guitar solo in Seize the Day.  |

I don't listen much of their songs but I can say that their songs are quite good, my views may seem a bit bias since I'm a fan of Rock genre. But overall, Avenge Sevenfold is good rock band, but if you compare it to Dragonforce and the likes, still not as heavy.     |

I've been listening to Avenged Sevenfold for about 3 years now. Although thyre bnot my favorite band their up there on my list. I prefer Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, SlipKnot, Bullet For My Valentine, Lacuna Coil, Escape The Fate @inu: dragonforce is Speed Metal but the guitar is fake. Their music is completely synthesized, even the voices. The vocals blow live. Dragonforce is only good for pump-ups and rock/band/guitar hero tracks.

How are Dragonforce's guitars fake? Because they're too on sync all the time? They aren't good live, the guitar parts live are too hard compared to studio recordings. Maybe if that's what you mean by fake, then yeah, that's understandable to some degree. I'm not a big Dragonforce fan at all, but Herman Li's guitar skills are not fake. His live demonstrations are too surreal to comprehend. How's Heavy [rock] Metal, Metalcore, Post-Hardcore, and Powermetal being compared to each other here?

DA that's what i meant I just realized I forgot to put quotations around fake. But I don't listen to that wide of an area of music here in America. I usually only listen to Rock, (regular Metal such as Disturbed, A little bit of Epic Metal, and Alternative. I'm not a huge fan of all the screamo stuff, like Mastodon and Megadeth, but I'll listen to it at some extent. Such as SlipKnot, Killswitch, and Bullet *bump* New album out on the 27th!! I'm curious to see how it will turn out since their drummer died before they finished most of the songs

There's this nice Symphonic Metal (or whatever the proper name is) band I listen to called "Eternal Tears of Sorrow." I'd say it's pretty awesome, coming from someone who doesn't really listen to metal or death core.

They're really not Metal anymore. They weren't after their "Waking the Fallen" album. After that, their signer hurt his voice and had to get surgery so he couldn't scream anymore. From City of Evil and on, their work has calmed down a bit, but it's still pretty intense.

New album completely rocks. They brought back some of their metal elements and the album turned out good with a replacement drummer. They might have dedicated a song to him, but I'm not sure.
