What media player would you say is the best?

I'm using VLC, but I don't know whether that's a good one or not. I know it plays a lot of types of media, but I wanna know if there's a better one.  |

Windows media player for music only. Gom or VLC for Video, both are great :)  |

WMP11 the best for music... Video? There's lots of programs of videos, so I'd had no idea.. BTW, too much videos viewing program, could cause codecs problems...  |

in my opinion .. real player can play any video format and any music format :x > .> i am not absolutely sure about it but so far .. i am currently use real player to watch video i haven't getting used to use it to play music |

i use many media player ^^; like: - Windows Media Player - Winamp - Real Player - iTunes - QuickTime Player i think: Windows Media Player is good for music, but limited formats. and so too for videos. but it's quite good for music and videos. Winamp is good for music 2, but for some reasons, i prefer WMP than Winamp. ^^; but winamp has may themes that you can change ^^ Real Player is good for radio. the buffering is good. iTunes. i'm new for this, but i think it's quite good. but just for music. it's not good for radio (for me). take long times of buffering. QuickTime Player. hmmm.... it's very good 4 playing any format of videos. ^^ and it can play AMR Audio format. @HEY-D: Real player cant play 3gp format video. it's just can play MP4 format. and it cant play AMR Audio format. just can play MP3, WMA, M4a, and MIDI (in my experience) ^^ so my opinion is... Windows Media Player 11. ^^ |

I'm a fan of minimalistic players and as such I prefer media player classic. I know you referred to media players specifically, but this is probably as good a time as any time mention CCCP(http://www.cccp-project.net/), a well maintained codec pack that will play anything you throw at it. VLC is an excellent player, however I caution anime fans away from it. It's support for SSA(the preferred soft-subs of many groups) is somewhat lacking. You'd be much better served by something like CCCP. |

I use Windows Media Player 11 for music, Media Player Classic for videos...but my WMP can actually play lots of stuffs, sometimes i use WMP for playing videos too...XD |

Well..i usually use TT player for music and KM player for video.. i strongly encourage KM player..coz it can open many format..and it looks cool too.. i dont usually use WMP and MPC coz my laptop had hung once when using them..T.T

foobar2000 - fast, light, customizable, simplistic viewing of files and music Cons: Bigger learning curve but it's been the best for me ever since Winamp.  |
