Can you post a link to the best website you've used to learn about HTML? I've been using Google to find some sites, and the majority of them aren't that great. So I was thinking that if I were to use the same sites as those who "are great" at web-designing, then I might become good as well. And I'm also looking for ones that teach CSS. Thanks. |

yeah what kira said lol check this thread. and to be honest.. I learn most of my html/css from looking at the source of various websites like.. when I saw some element of a webpage that looked cool, I right clicked and "view source" to see what kind of coding was used. |

I dont know for you, but for me its pretty much taking something and edit it. Most webpages nowadays are backed by content management systems (I have 5 webpages, 4 of them are using CMS) and they are in .php, so knowing myself being a lazy bum, I get those themes from the internet, apply them to my websites, and edited them with the help of firebug and notepad++. Not that you will learn anything, but for me its definitely simpler than starting from scratch. In any case, do download firebug extension for firefox, it has the inspect function which shows your the html and css code where your mouse is at, which is really nifty. |

firebug is indeed nifty. been looking for that add-on. also I recommend CollorZilla and MeasureIt. when it comes to layouts and colors theses add-ons really comes in handy. for tutorials I just go to "w3schools". I also keep going back there cause I hate memorizing stuff. and I agree with XiaoNewbiez. just go around sites and steal some of their Ideas(or codes if you could parse them, which could take some time to do). |

I rely on W3Schools for all my HTML support, referance and guidance I need. I personally think that W3Schools is the best HTML tutoring website there is on the web. |
