Addiction

Heres my logic behind addiction... Imagine, you’ve never had chocolate before. There’s a plate of chocolate in front of you, with a chair, and a table… Others have told you what it looks like, and how addictive it can be. You decide to try a piece. There’s bar after bar, block after block, one individual piece joined by another. You try a piece. You savor it for a few seconds, and swallow it whole. That tiny little square, that small sample of such a thing… It leads you to taking more. No one’s around, nobody’s there to claim it, even though you could be at a party. Why wait? Others older than you have had it, but you can’t wait for that. Your mum isn’t going to let you buy any; you don’t have the money. Who else would give it to you? At first, it’s only two pieces at a time, but soon it becomes handfuls, taking off what seemed like an endlessly giving plate. You’ve eaten, according to you, platefuls. But it was only one plate… It was so addictive… You feel so sick… But you don’t care - you want more chocolate. It’s all gone, and now you have to wait until the next party. What’s the likeliness you’ll be invited again soon? Three years later, you’re at a party. There’s a plate of chocolate in front of you, with a chair, and a table… There’s bar after bar, block after block, one individual piece joined by another. That tiny little square, that small sample of such a thing… It leads you to taking more. No one’s around, nobody’s there to claim it, even though you’re at a party. Why wait? Others get to have it, but you won’t get that. Your mum isn’t going to let you buy any, even though you have the money. You’re going to have to wait until you move out of home… At first, it was a handful, but sooner or later it became a jug full, and you feel sick. It’s all gone. When’s your next opportunity? You sprawl all over the floor, mumbling a bunch if words no one would have ANY hope of ever understanding. Chocolate frothing at your mouth, your lips a sweet brown, nausea taking over your mind. What have you done? Such a stupid question… Well, what do you think? I know, it doesnt make TOO~ much sense, but hopefully, somebody will understand. Truly, though, when you think about it... Where would we be without addiction? If people werent addicted to drinking, for example, what would happen then? I think, even with affection, with your needs, you can form an addiction of sorts from those. What about drug addicts? On a lighter note, if we didnt have addiction, wouldnt half our daily conversations be less... in depth, as such? I mean, what would we have to talk about? We wouldnt complain as much, nor brag as much, if addiction wasnt a part of us. The same thing applies to curiousity. If we didnt have curiousity, would we have addiction?

First, i don't think your explanation about addiction is true. second, what are you talking about might be not addiction but more like phobia that you might never see chocolates anymore... i know some people who eats like that because they don't know when they will eat again... sometimes they cam eat about 3 until 4 times a day but there's also times where they didn't eat anything in a week.... third, from what i heard that people who addicted in drugs feel sick and their body hurt if they don't take the drugs anymore... ![]() |
