Having Issues Downloading
Link | by Surllio on 2009-01-31 08:20:41
Alright,

I've been trying most of the morning to download two songs. They are not blue highlighted, so I should be able to download them.

I'm using firefox 3.0.5.

When I click the link to download, it automatically opens up windows media player, even though it is not my default player. It encounters a problem. No big deal.

When I right click the link (save as/save link as), I don't get such an option. The link is a direct Java code.

I cannot figure out a way to download successfully. Any advice on what I should do?

Right click is no longer working, since the download code has been changed.
At least, when you click it... there should be a Pop-up message asking you do perform which action to do. Like this:

Select "Save to Disk" option.

If you accidentally checked "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." option, I guess you can reconfigure it on Options (Tools > Options).

It suppose to open a window, as I never check the box. I checked my options, and it suppose to ask. The only set to open automatically are PDF files. MP3, WMA, and WAV files are set to "always ask."

However, clicking a link does nothing up open up windows media player. I cannot figure out WHY it is doing this.

That's weird. Maybe check your Windows Media Player configuration as well? Or try to use other browsers... :P

I'd rather not use other browsers if I can get away with it. I've had IE and the virus loops kill computers, so I avoid it. Firefox should be fine.

I've checked windows media player, but found nothing that would cause it to override the download process. There is an option to do so, but it isn't selected.

Disable your download accelerator software.
