Name are just a strings of letters used to tell everyone apart. A name has no bearing on how a person will live or what they will accomplish. Really, a name has very little importance in life.

Not all people adore their natal names. Madonna's birth name isn't Madonna, David Bowie's birth name isn't David Bowie at all! Those singers need their glamour names to support their musicwork and fame. Not many people will remember their names once the individuals died. So I don't think names are the only unique thing to each individual and important in one's life. I think what's important in each individual is one's personality (characteristics) to influence the people within some environment, the talents that derived from one's personality create benchmark within the society for the sake to be remembered in the years to come. It's like:- Joe: Hey, do you remember Andy? Mike: Andy? Who? Joe: Andy Mark. You know, our classmate in our schooldays. Mike: ...no, I can't remember, sorry. Joe: The Andy, that guy who liked to make pranks in school! He blasted Slayer songs through the intercom during the morning prayer--- Mike: Aaah yeah! Was that him?! AH wait, yeah!!! I remember him now. He's epic. --- SO yeah, one's personality is an important thing that everybody has. |

Well...i think the most important thing that anyone doesn't want to let go is... Their Own Life...What Else? I think name not so important...this day, everyone like to change their own birth name...so, how important is that?! (No Offense) I agree with wootos too...personality is important too...coz every human have their own personality, that make different between one human to the another.  |

well names does makes conversation a lot more easier. it makes it easy to identify somebody "best using the persons full name". my moms always ask for my teachers name or the names of those guys who asked for my help on their project. but personally I end up talking to somebody for a long time and still not get their names. I end up knowing their personalities first. I am exactly like that on w00t0s example. its easier to remember what they did or who they are but I tend to forget their names. I remembered a talk about how the stereo type people because of their names on Oprah. they thought the names belongs to drug pushers and the like, but those names actually belongs to a bunch 6 year olds. I amazed what names could do after watching that. but still I agree with w00t0s that personality is still more important than names. |

i say life...without it, we won't be here...XD lol speaking of names, everytime i change class there must be at least ONE person that has the same name as me...so they call us based on our personalities XP  |

i thing the most important thing we all have is life... the second thing would be personality... everyone has a different personality... even twins different somehow... just like alvistir said... right now... there're lot of people in my country who changed their birth name with some other nonsense name... just because their famous doesn't mean that they have to change their name... so i think names are important ONLY for those who appreciate it... |

And it's a lie. You demand the truth. The final question: WHY??? He's left speechless. Would you be absolutely angry if your parents can't make up a satisfying explanation why they would name you stupid names when you were born? OF COURSE YOU WOULD!!! Like I said, not all people adore their natal (birth) names. I bet Peaches hate her name. |

| ^^^ That proves that names should not be the only important thing that everyone has. This Mohammed guy can be a good citizen or a rebel, and it's his personality should progress to some road he wants to go. His name, of course it is the name of the prophet, but it won't make him feel like an important person apart from his family. So I guess his personality should be important to contribute his skills to improve community whatsoever. Any person can be named Mohammed, and can be either from a good family or from a broken family. And his name can be disgraced quite easily if he didn't consider his actions. Once disgraced, the name begins to be forgotten. Personality plays the card to purify the name. |

Oh yeah, I should've put EDIT in the last post. Apologies. So a name is a hope from a baby's mom and dad... okay, it's still a valid reason. Peaches' long name can represent Bob Geldof's feelings for his own daughter (ohoohoo, she gets brattier than ever, the hope's gone). My name will sound important if I do something that people accepts what I did. Right now, my name isn't that important. Other than names and personality, money is one of the important things that everyone has. |

Names can also be cruel or a joke. My friends full name is Wendy Angela Moira Darling. A girls who works with us is named Alison Wonderlin Sound familiar? Why did their parents do that. Nin said Other than names and personality, money is one of the important things that everyone has.. Not true. Money is only a means to and end and in light of the economy that end is now in sight. We don't have any money anymore. All gone in the crash of our investments, retirement funds everything all gone. Now what? We can't recover that. Money may be important but it makes no difference if you have none.  |
