Where can I find a DDR pad and game?
Link | by Ravyn Archer on 2005-06-01 18:57:26
Hi ho, peoples. I was wondering where I could buy a DDR pad and PS2 game for not much money. I love the game, but I am not thrilled with having to borrow my friend's pad and whatnot every time I want to play. Please assist!

What's not a lot of money? cause you can just buy or get it online, I think some people download though I'm not sure.

From the day I was born till the day I die the only side I'm on is my own.(Saiyuki)

Not a lot of money translates to $30, tops.
Downloading doesn't help; I need it for PS2. My PS2 dislikes internet lots.

I found the DDR pad and the game DDR Extreme that you can use the camera thingy with it at Sam Goody for a little over $60. It's not the cheapest around, but you can always buy used games and pads.

I suggest you go to Ebay for the pads. Get the knockoff ignitions from a seller somewhere. Make sure it's the hard foam and not the dense one. Do a lot of looking around and you'd be able to find good ones. I got 2 of em for $35 after shipping. Much better than buying the official Konami ones. As for the game, Max1 and Max2 are $30 each now, so if you want to save $10, get one of those instead of Extreme US (which is not as good as compared to the Maxes).

Yup Mikhal is correct the best way to get the cheapest ones around are from Ebay. I got mine there for only about $60 and it came with the game and 2 pads.

Well with about $20 more, you should be able to buy a bundle pack at an electronic store. (Includes game and pad). Or at electronic stores there are some pads by themselves for $20! You just have to look around...Other than that, if you're looking online:

Thanks a lot. My mom got one for my sister, so she got to spend money and not me. It's fun to watch my 300+ pound brother do 5 consecutive jumps and whatnot. Hehehe... I'm so evil.

Actually, yes DDR: Mario Mix is comming for the gamecube in the second half of October. It's basic ddr with mario charactes as the dancers in the background and Nintendo music for some of the songs like in donkey conga.

I have also heard rumors that DDR: Mario mix will only have Nintendo music in it and absolutely no Konami originals like they have had in all of the previous installments of the DDR series.

Nothing you get outside of a full-fleged RedOctane Ignition pad will be all that good. If you want something even better look into Cobalt Flux pads.

Alright so I was like you when I first got into DDR, wanted a good price and what not.. I went to bestbuy they have the black and blue Konami pads for I think it was something like 15-20 (It couldn't have been too much...) And the game DDR Max one (I started with the first one and made my way up from there) for like 30 all in all I spend $40, it's ten over what you originally wanted to spend (which actually means the pad was 10 not 15...my bad..) so there you go and they were both brand new and I've had no problems with my Konami pads I now have two and all three versions and will soon be getting the Konamix versions and the Disney DDR from Amazon.com. But shop around first don't just buy the first pad and the first game you find, go to game stores that specialize in games and what not and ask around, maybe even buy used (cause most things are just as good used as they are new...) go to Best Buy, then go to other electronics stores and question everything...I wasn't the smartest one, I just bought the first one I found, if you look hard enough you may be able to spend exactly $30 to get a game and a pad as well... then start asking for them as presents (if you celebrate those sorts of things that is... don't mean to offend anyone but some people don't celebrate x-mas or birthdays and things like that...)
But yea, good luck and don't give up or get frustrated hang in there...!

"Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have any film..." "Friends are the people who know everything about you and still put up with you!" "Nothing in life is free, even death costs us."

I'm not a beginner, I've been playing for 1yr and half its just that I'm poor and can't a better pad like a redoctane.(thought i really want one) I need a cheap pad that doesn't slide in standard/heavy songs.
