Cannot save file to computer
|
I tried to download songs, but it does not seem to save onto my computer. This happened to me to two of my computers. I know it's not the user's problem because I tried on a different computer and it worked. But my main computer would not save it. I tried to delete my cookies and my history, but it did not work still. Here is a screenshot: Thanks. Jay. |

Hmm, are you out of space on your HDD, perhaps? Or maybe it's some sort of vista permissions issue. In any case, according to my log files, the songs seem to have been downloaded correctly. Any problem saving the file would be a problem with your browser; moved to Help topic. |

I know for sure I have more space. Maybe it is the issue with the Vista. Is there a way to enable/disable whatever is preventing me from downloading? I can download things off the net, but just not from Gendou for some reason :( |

Well, it doesn't appear to be a problem on the server side. Maybe try using a different browser. |

The song you're supposed to save it directly where it goes to desktop and after that you're cut it and paste it in your folders. Because if you save it through winamp and such to play right away it will get lost in your files. |

That's what I did, I saved it onto desktop. It won't work though.. |

Based on the screenshot, I assume it's Internet Explorer 7. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Shin I Think It's IE5 because it says content.IE5 but its just a guess http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2007/04/04/protected-mode-for-ie7-in-windows-vista-is-it-on-or-off.aspx#2027185 This Is For Vista :D but for the people who are to lazy to read the whole thing... To enable or disable Protected Mode for a zone go to: Internet Options > Security tab > Select the appropriate zone> Check/uncheck the “Enable Protected Mode†checkbox. The status of Protected Mode can be monitored by looking at the “Protected Mode: On†text in bottom right corner of the IE status bar. However, at times you may notice the text in the status bar says “Protected Mode: Off†even when the Internet Options dialog says Protected Mode is enabled. There are a few exceptions that could potentially turn off Protected Mode. They are as follows: User Account Control (UAC) is disabled – If UAC is disabled, Protected Mode is turned OFF. When UAC is disabled, some of the protections which Protected Mode depends on are not available, for example, UI Privilege Isolation (UIPI) is disabled. Hence, Protected Mode is turned off in this scenario. IE is running with Administrator privileges – Protected Mode is turned off when IE is launched by right clicking on the IE icon and selecting “Run as administrator†or when IE is launched with administrative privileges from another application. This generally occurs when an installer/setup program running with administrator privileges starts a new IE process. IE is navigated to a local HTML page – When the page being viewed is a local file, Protected Mode is turned OFF since the contents of the page are considered safe. Caveat: If the page was saved from a zone (for example Internet) which has Protected Mode enabled, then Protected Mode is turned ON. chart is um...on the page lol... EDIT Again...: I overwritten the other link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932823 this is a possible fix for windows XP and 2003 - Doomlight

What you have provided was very helpful, however, it did not seem to work for me. I appreciate the help guys. Well, just to clear things up, I'm using Internet Explorer with Vista. The computer that worked with the downloading is Internet Explorer with Windows XP. I tried another browser, Netscape and to my surprise it worked. Thanks for all the help. Jay. |
