You're Hoover-god-dam right I'm pissed off. What's so hard about spelling out words? Firefox even has spell checker built into it. It's not just in the forums, either. You wouldn't believe some of the moronic misspellings people use as keywords to search for music. I should make a list and publish it on here, then you'd understand the kind of apish idiocy I deal daily.

Some people are slow enough that typing those extra two or three letters in each of those words would waste enough time that they learn to skip what they learn is unnecessary in communicating their point. At 100 characters per minute, every thirty times they didn't use an abbreviation they'd be 'wasting' a minute of their time. ... well, but if someone types 20 words per minute, they should learn to do better... Some people can two-finger-type at around 50, so perhaps that 100 characters per minute estimate is bogus. |

Doesn't matter how slow you at typing, spelling is important its not for our sake but your own sake. And whats the point of you using a computer and won't try to learn how to type right and fast. |

I don't drive through people's lawns just because it's a short cut. Short cuts are OK if there's no harm, but when you're typing like you have an inoperable brain tumor, it's a problem.

It's a matter of efficiency versus politeness. Shall I try to type as quickly as I can, or shall I worry about the readers' eyes bleeding or not? Edit: Was that guy who used "u" totally BANNED!? |

I don't see why you're gonna rush typing when making a thread. Its always better to type things out right and I don't think anyone really mind if you're slow or fast. In real life, when writing essays or working you can't use shortcut words its point taken off from your paper right away. |
