It's Official the new Playstation 3!!!!!

Yep! Sony has Official release pictures and specs of the new Playstation 3. It kinda looks like a highly modified PS2, but don't get me wrong it's probably way better than a PS2. It's gonna use "Blu-Ray" discs which can hold up to 6 times as much data as normal DVDs. It will also have slots for a Memory Stick Duo, a SD slot, compact flash memory slot and slot for a detachable 2.5 inch HDD as well as 6 USB slots and can support up to 7 blue tooth controllers. It has a 3.2Ghz processor and also graphics more powerful than two GeForce 6800 Ultra video cards combined. It will also be able to support some hefty multimedia features, such as video chat, internet access, digital photo viewing, digital audio and video. PS3's spec is 35 times better thatn the PS2 and 2 times better than the xbox 360.  |

dont forget that the 3.2 processor is a cell processor, I believe that its going to be 9 cell processors in it. But yes PS3 is a powerhouse, but I think the price for it was released at $465.00

Specs are nice, but its the games that will make all the difference. And if the PS3's repertoire of games will be anything like the PS2's, awesomeness is in store. Problem is it will cost a pretty penny... dang right ya gotta save now to buy later! At least the PS3 does all those different functions. It's like money spent on other devices is combined for one machine. :) |

Hopefully, that price will drop at least a little before the release date... But leave it to Sony to knock Microsoft's X-Box 360 for a loop, heh! :) (I only got into PS2 in the last year or so, (I was a die hard PC gamer, who hadn't owned a console since SNES) and have spent much of my time recently catching up on the PS1 & PS2 games, since some of the greats are fairly cheap now, so I am actually kinda looking forward to the PS3); And for other people who were like me, and have thus-far sworn off consoles in favor of more powerful PC gaming, I must admit that though the console technically has a limit to how far it's graphics, memory, etc... can go, it's kinda worth it to just pop in a disc and not worry about installation, video card compatibility, audio card compatibility, Direct X versions, etc... I never thought I'd be saying that, but even I gotta admit, it's worth it; |

*sigh* and i havent even got a playstation 2 yet! ah well.. it'll be released in 2006, correct? along with the other consoles.. man, the graphics.. *faints* gawd, have you seen the FFVII tech demo for the ps3?!(they're teasing us!!) i nearly fell of my chair as i watched it! very nice! but they said it was only for demonstration purposes and they do NOT have plans on remaking it. ..liars. XD j/k! |

There not gonna make FF7 on the PS3!!!!!!!???????? That's very disappointing, I was looking forward to seeing FF7 on the PS3 :(. Lol guess they are running out of ideas. Maybe you can grill up new york strip steak while your playing too (if the console got that hot, heh). Hope the boomerang (or battarang) controllers won't end up giving people hand cramps or something... they still have time to change the design, though. |

At least when you're suddenly attacked by terrorists in your living room you can use that boomerang shaped controller to defend yourself, ha! lets see a console that can be used as grill and weapon at the same time, PS3 kicks ass hehehe |

| They better put up a new game version of Akira. On ad2019.com, they had a preview of it, but it looked like something from the original Super Mario Bros. game. They should have it in third-person mode, give you the opportunity to play as either Kaneda or Tetsuo, and follow an extended storyline mixed with the concepts of the manga and the anime versions. |

I hope they make like a FF13 for PS3 later on. Im lookin forward to MGS4 and DMC4 on PS3 the cutscenes will kick ass. When I saw the console i thought it was a mini refridgerator door and the boomerang' going to hurt my hands just like the PS2 controller did. What sux is that even tho prices will b high for both PS3 and Xbox360 in the long run the game prices of 60 bucks will never go down back to fifty bucks and that means ill have to pay more tax eek! hey if I think that in the US its 60 bucks to buy a game then in japan itll b like 70 buck dang... |
