NotSoGood Gaming Rig (I need help setting one up.)

I really don't need a high end machine. I just need something practical, something that can run most games at average video settings and doesn't cost much(In short, something that can run current and upcoming blizzard games. Also half-life episode 3.<('. '<)heh)

Here's what I'm pitching for so far:

video card - Geforce 8800 Ultra (Ultras are getting really cheap right now, so are the gtx's, plus they can really deliver. I think they'll live on for 2 or more years(I'm hoping for more), i really can't make an informed guess.)

ram - 2x 512 gb ddr 3 / 2x 1 gb ddr 3 (I honestly can't make up my mind which one is more practical yet. I really think 4gb of ram is too much and I don't think all of it will be used up by the computer anyway.)

processor - Intel Core Duo (I've really heard a lot of good feedback from people about this chip. I don't think i "need" a quad core processor for average gaming.)

hard drive - 2x 256 gb (I don't know what brand I should go for, too many to choose from. I need opinions. Something that has SATA 3 interface most preferably.)

motherboard - no clue (I want something that can hold all of the above together and isn't too pricey.)

Comments, suggestions and alternatives are much appreciated. Sorry if I came here for info, I know it's quite inappropriate getting feedback from this site concerning this matter but I just don't feel comfortable with any other community(... + I don't belong to any other online community to begin with.).

Budget is at around $700, maybe more (Depends how much weed I can sell this month. It's rainy season here so things are looking good... and lush green hah, jos kidding mon...)

P.S. I'm not that well versed with technology so don't say, "No, you got it all wrong STUPID! x needs y amount of z to perform a, etc., you can however try clarifying stuff for me or give me a wiki link. I know how to read stuff... amazing, I know ^^ hehe. I did some research though but I really need geek, err, um, expert support.

love & peace

What you have here my friend is a very interesting build. For around 700$ without moniter/os you can do quite a bit.
If i were you, I would get the following:

Rosewill R5605-BK Case $70

LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model iHAS120-04 $24

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive $100

Antec earthwatts EA500 500W ATX12V v2.0 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply $50

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBNT $48

GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard $87

Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor $84

SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 $160

Total = $623 before tax and shipping (This list is thanks to newegg.com)

Note: This is a quick list i made in like 5 minutes. But I'm guessing that's a rough estimate. You don't have to use newegg there are cheaper places sometimes so this is just a rough estimate of what you can get at your price range.
