Well, I don't come to the forum very often, so I'm wondering what the difference is between a quick reply and a normal reply? Thank you for your help in advance. ^-^  |

Normal replies are all over internet message boards or "forums", as we commonly know them. A quick reply is just something "quick", fast, instantly, etc. that has been featured for easier communication processes. I think people more advanced with forum usage, would use the quick reply option more than the regular normal way. Basically, there really is no difference, as least for Gendou.com forums anyways. If you click on both, there really isn't anything different. Other forums that have more features like (HTML help/guide, emotes, etc.). There are a lot of different types of forums that use different codes, features different things, etc. But for Gendou.com forums, no, there really isn't a huge difference. This is just my view on it anyways.

yup i agree with devil-angel , i think there's no diff actually , but its quite imbalance if put them together , or is it not ? at least thats my opinion

Quick reply is exactly as how it is named; it's for replying quick. So what's the difference? Using the normal reply button, a new page will load up for you to write your message. Using quick reply, the message entry box will open up on the same page without having to reload. This is essentially useful for a hot thread since you can post your message a little faster and not worry about having messages from other people cut in since you would have had to load the page first. But as DA mentioned, in this particular site, the two are essentially the same minus what I added. Other forums will utilize a message box with limited text editing features since the quick reply is meant for a quick reply so there is no need to use fancy effects like bold or italic or etc. Of course you can still use them by manually typing out the codes. Typically the normal reply option will come with the clickable codes to save you time from typing them out. |
