is life itself just a game without any pause/save/reset button? If you think that way, why the heck Kit Kat invented in the first place?!?!?? No pause means no Break, no Kit Kat. Life should not be treated as a game. If you see it that way, all you can think of is competition and struggle to be the truly and the only best of all 'so-called' best ones. Life is a timespan to be filled with what you want to do in your life and the memories you want to cherish in your life you only have. So, as I offer you this: Have a break, have a Kit-Kat. |

life IS a game. an arcade game where you only get 1 life and you don't have any (metaphorical)quarters in your pocket in case you die, whether by unfortunate circumstances or just by being a noob :D

Come to think of it, life really IS just a game. We have different levels in our lives, being different stages of maturity, and an unlimited amount of characters present within the game. Some are enemies, some helpful, and others just obliviously present. There is NO pause button, meaning one is living/playing constantly. Anything can happen at any moment to you, so there's no telling what lies before you. With this in mind, considering that there's no telling what happens next in the game, you would think everyone would be living out each moment to the fullest, rather than take it all for granted. Like RayStorm said, we only get 1 life. 1 chance. Screw it up and get yourself killed.. GAMEOVER. But then of course, if all you focus on is meticulously trying to NOT be killed, you won't be able to sit back and just enjoy the game. After all, games are meant to be entertaining, are they not? And this game in particular has an unending variety of different actions, situations, etc.. Even interaction with all the other players to the point that even THEY have the potential to greatly affect your actions and decisions. For the most part though, we aren't really competing against each other in this game. We're all on our own tracks, trying to complete our own goals, or just trying to stay in the game. Of course if should one ever get so intensely frustrated as to quit the game before actually dying, one may simply press the Power button, turning the game off--in the form of suicide, which is optional, (though not recommended). |

I agree with Sammeh, at certain points. Life, in certain aspects, is like a game, but not entirely. I mean, you don't get a "Continue" after the "Game Over". Once you're Game Over, that's it. |

I still don't like seeing life, as a whole, a game. I want to see life more than about competition and struggling to achieve something. Now the economy recession is about to mark game over~ there must be another side that yields new hope and fairness. The real game over is when I'm dead. |

in response to meanie tofu soya bean: If you came all the way to discover the similarities between games and real life, why don't you take the reverse assumption: gaming equals living I would say that the whole concept of computer games takes a lot of influences from the real world. After all, most games are barely a simulation of real life actions that represent our desires which cannot be fulfilled (shooting up people, driving racing cars, flying airplanes or spaceships, you name it). People are buying the kind of games that gives them the most authentic feeling. Even the current development of games is aiming to make them resemble our world even more, meaning bigger worlds, more realistic graphics, humanoid AIs, etc. Gaming is pretty much all about living in another form of reality, thus life cannot be a game (or else, we had an infinite paradox). Next thing you tell me is that second world war happened because Call of Duty came out at that time.^^ |

Life is most definitely a game, an absurd game with pretty good graphics. It gets more absurd when trying to apply any kind of meaning to it... Don't take life too seriously (or you will end up a bore)... it's just a game... have fun for now, laugh until your terminal breathe. Whoever dies with the most stuff wins (jk). "Try to remember, it's only a game" |
Re: life? game?

Is life a game? That depends on what you consider a game to be. It's all a matter of opinon. A GAME WITH NO PAUSE IS STILL A GAME, A MOVIE WITH A PAUSE IS NOT A GAME. WHAT IS A GAME? |

I think life is not just a game, it's The Game. The Game that doesn't allow you to restart when you die (unless you were successfully revived except in the case of dying by old age) and the only exit is death. The Game that has no pause (you could try moving really fast to the point that everything appears to stop but then time still moves on and moving really fast is something our bodies cannot endure). The Game that rewards you (or not) when your working hard. The Game where you get to be what you want to be to the best you possibly can and get recognized (or not -- others gets recognized, but then there are cases that the law prohibits) for it (good or bad). The Game where you sometimes ask the purpose of it all -- that is playing The Game. ..and so on and so forth..ad nauseam.. |

Life isn't really a game. You live day-to-day unable to go back and change anything you've done. There is no do-over, there is no pause and you can't save. You can say it's just like you have one life, but if life was a game itself then you could go back, reset, do something to correct a mistake or `missed item`. You can't do these things. However, you could look at life like a movie. It's a movie staring you and all those around you. You watch it until the end, with no intermission; and when the credits roll, you're singing with the angels high in the heavens above. |

life a game mmm...don't think so =/ cus if it really is a game...we could all have what we all want right? WRONG if we could have all we want what's the point of not knowing what we all where born to do and know what the real meaning of life itself |
