I'm taking a Physics course and until i started, i thought like everyone i saw here. (I've been reading all threads on this section for the last couple of hours.) Photons don't have mass. Not true. I'm saying this to clarify and ofcourse, to have a thread of my own. xD Photons have been calculated to have a mass of 0. Even though it is 0, it is still a quantified mass. The way you can achieve this is calculating photon's momentum. There is a difference between the rest mass of a particle and the mass of a moving particle. You can easily see how a photon has zero rest mass since it is always traveling at the speed of light. |
