How do you choose anime to buy or download ?

In commonly, when you buy or download , you have to choose anime that you sasify with them. I want to to know what is your criteria for choose anime. :::: My criteria ::: when I choose anime ,I usually look at actress in the cover if she very cute and huge beautiful eyes i will pick it. but I consider story of anime if it story is violence I won't pick it. |

I go on reccomendations from people I know, or companies that do them; or by a opening/ending song oddly enough. For instance, I found Air from litening to Tori No Uta, and I found Kannon from looking up what else was done by the same animation studio, I'm about to start Clannad now~ One I got from just a opening theme was Utawarerumono.. which still has a very weird name~ I only got into anime last year though, so heh.  |

If it's online, it's easier since you have the internet to help you. If you're going to buy though, for me it's not that hard, either. Out here, I only look for box set collections of anime. I don't purchase individual DVD Volumes cause that's a hassle at times. If it's a series I never heard of before, I read the back to see if it'll interest me or not, I look all around the cover, etc.etc. Basically, I know if I'll get it or not. It just comes to me. Not that hard.

That older thread from two years ago is not the same as this one. That thread is simply a choose "this or that" topic. This thread focuses more on choosing anime to view and/or purchase while in stores. It's more in depth, can begin better more interesting discussion, and could be helpful to anime fans. [edit] [sidenote] Those other threads are way too old and have died out. They don't even relate directly to the topic here and to me are irrelevant. Sorry, this thread shall remain unlocked. I hope you understand. :3

Mostly by if I like the manga. I don't have much time to watch anime, though, so I usually don't get around to watching the ones I do download. I'll download them just by the title, though... Even if I've never heard of it...

For me,I'll buy them,even though I'll wait for some time before a new anime have finished airing. When buying anime DVDs,I'll check out that particular anime through Internet first.Once confirmed finished and not owned,I'll pick them up the next time I see them.Of course,I do have the tendency to blow my budget off a little,but that's just me ;P But as for you,be honest and buy any anime you like the most ;) |

i download my anime based on recommendation, and i usually always watch whatever is in the new season :P   |

i download anime often but i dont burn and keep on discs or sell them via copyright laws etc. ill usually buy a series if i really liked it and the voice dubbing is okay... cause i saw a few eps of gundam seed destiny in english and i was like hmm its a little okay, cagalli's voice is bad. but when i saw bleach in english i was like this is sooo horrible. and also i buy if there are no seeders for the old anime that i missed. I have to download sometimes cause i went to the store saw the evangelion series going for like 130 bucks and im not made of money right?  |

| I go on recommendations, and the openings. If I find the opening for it randomly, and I like the opening, then I'll start watching it. That's how I find animes to watch. :) |

I go by recommendations from forums and people on there whose opinion I trust. I do research to see if it it something that I would like. I've been doing alot of blindbuys lately though. |

Usually I go by reviews on sites like ANN or something like that. Otherwise I usually just read plot summaries and if it sounds good, I'll check it out. :) |
