Well, there was a thread here earlier about the anime you'd want to appear in. I've mentioned earlier, that most likely if you'd appear in the anime - you'd be a background character... i mean, if you're just living in that world - that doesn't mean that you'll experience everything great, like main characters or their friends/enemies... However, even with those conditions there IS one anime, that i'd truly want to appear in - Aria. I mean, if you get to live on that beautiful planet - i wouldn't care who i am... But the city like this is wonderful for everyone, even if you're not connected to its wonders like Akari, or respected like Alicia. Well, that's what i think, despite being quite a rough guy :) And i wondered how many of you agree with me... and what do you think about living in there, despite everything. |

Hm… Aria. The planet is called Aqua, isn’t it? A world where people live peacefully, without obtrusive technology, inevitable diseases, drugs, violence/gangs with police on everyone’s tail, and extreme sexual appeal. A place where it’s beautiful all year round despite the weather. I darn-well certainly would like to live in that world despite not being a main character in Aria. Although, it would be nice to have that comrade type relationship just like the characters in Aria, but I can dream. This is from personal experience, but I noticed in the world, it’s hard not to long for a romantic relationship and rarely anyone is content with just being best friends. A world where that’s the best gift in the world is truly awe inspiring for me. The environment in Aria is splendid, but I was drawn to the powerful comradeship of the characters. I’m quite surprised that a rough guy like you took interest in an anime/manga like Aria. To want to live in that world is quite surprising too! Happy to know a fellow Aria watcher. ^_^

Well, you may be right about romantic relationship, but it's not like there weren't any in Aria :) However, i'd say romance in there was quite a pure and somewhat naive, like for example Aika-Al... and there were whole load of old couples. However, in reality, people who in fact hate each other get together. Of course, if i'd be in that world, i'd hope i was some good friend with Alice and Akari, but even without it, the whole planet'd be my friend anyway. Hope you remember the episode of making the snowman. That was what inspired me the most in that world. And, although i'm rough, i'm also a romantist. I didn't actually like Aria at the first several episodes... but the more you watch it, the more you fall in love with that city, right? :) And there are surely people, who can call Aria childish, or boring, because it's too slow-paced, but i'm sure that even they would love it, if they got to know it better. At least that's what i hope for... otherwise, this mankind is surely doomed :D P.S. I was surprised that someone finally responded to that thread :D |

I guess I was a little too absolute about romantic relationships in Aria (I guess I sounded a little bias.) How about I look at it this way. Relationship in Aria are not as, shall we say… nerve racking? In a lot of anime/manga, especially shoujo, you’ll see plenty of that drama, wouldn’t you say? Abusive relationship, jealousy, people framing other people just to be with one another, you get the picture. I guess Aria is like a dream world. You fall in love, stay in love, and never encounter an earth shattering problem. I would imagine Aika would still make time plenty of time for her friends if (most likely will?) hook up with Al. It seems that people now a days, get married and never see their friends in forever. Some lose contact with a lot too? I could be exaggerating a bit too much, but I get that feeling for some reason. Can you expand on the hate-love relationship? I'm thinking the typical "opposite attracts" but I could be wrong. PS. I watched Aria the Animation and a few episodes of the Natural two years ago. I don’t remember the snowman scene. XD Ack! Wait till school ends in two weeks, then I’ll run a marathon. Have you seen the OVA or the Origination? Heard the ending brought tears to many!
