So yeah, apparently Bang Zoom! are gonna do a lucky star dub. has anyone seen the trailers? what do we think of it? Wendee Lee will be voicing Konata (probably because her role of Haruhi). i'd say it would probably loose some of the funny parts in english... but thats just what i think ^-^ anyone else?  |

There's a lot of parts in Lucky Star that will be difficult to dub. Like one part where Hirano Aya said this huge sentence and it was like, all together. That will be a part that will most likely not sound good in english. I'unno, I gotta see it for myself. The Azu dub was like, so weird, and I HOPE they match the personalties and voices a bit, unlike Osaka. -______-

i can't really watch eng dubs things these days. i mean, with lucky star especially, they've got a lot to live up to. most of the time it doesn't cut it. Devils-Angel has just reminded me of the dreadful VO's for Azu. my teeth grated everytime they said "Chiyo-chan". I may have to watch LS again after watchin that vid.

@kirky-chan: ugh, i know what you mean, that azumanga daioh dub was painful. i mean really, it felt like my ears were bleeding Dx and it was so good in japanese! i think theres only a few actually good dubs around... i'd say theyre pretty hard to find. |

@Zaziu. yeh that's true. i wanted to cut my ears off, just to take it one step further ;) i think that the only dub i like is FMA. that wasn't too bad at all.

i have to agree, kagami's voice needs enthusiasm!hahaha well it's pretty good but every time i see konata talk, i expect to hear the spunky yet cute konata voice ^^ |

as an ultra major fan of L * S, as per the youtube post of zpartacus, i think the voices came from some american cartoon ep's (smurf? care-bears?). konata is well ok. miyuki - ok tsukasa - no cutesy in it ( i think) kagami - where is the tsundere voice ive been looking for? n/a in english i think i do agree there are some parts they cannot translate or express properly - as L * S eps' have some deep japanese humour in it (if i am correct). nevertheless, nice try and no bleeding ears like at A-Daioh. |

Jeez...you people need to loosen up and just enjoy it. Konata's VA in english fits perfectly fine. It's the same VA as Haruhi in the dub so they got that part right, and she pulls off Konata's emotional ups and downs really well. Kagami was a bit of a surprise, but even though it takes an episode or so to sink in, it really doesn't sound bad at all and fits somewhat well. Tsukasa....well, I can't rate her objectively since I've always hated the obviously attempting to sound cutesy voices like whoever did Sasami from Tenchi waaay back when. The only voice I really had a problem with was Miyuki's since it was really painfully obvious she was overdoing it. But then again I've always disliked Miyuki's character as a whole so I guess it isn't so bad (for me at least).

@h4x0r: yeah, i guess i see what you mean. i only really watch the japanese asides from a few dubs, so i guess im a bit biased in this subject xD. i guess we'll see what people think when it comes out anyways~ |

Ummmmm guys, I was giving you my review of the first DVD. It IS out and has been for about 3 weeks now. I used the chocolate cornet screen wipe to clean off my laptop screen just now, and let me tell you that pink school girl uniform T-shirt is never going to touch the skin of my chest...ever... (or wait, I'm talking about here in the states. So if you guys are in the Philippines, then my bad)
