What the heck, I have no clue what words Pro and Con are part of.... Or if they even are... Someone educate me. =] |

._. Er, well, they're derived from the Latin phrase "pro et contra" meaning for and against. The English language has taken these words, I guess, and used them for roots for words as well as the phrase in general. Pro isn't abbreviated but contra is but there is also a root that is just plain "con" which means with or together. (=.= I'm surprised I remember this from school.)
