I've been getting problems with my connection from this morning, which seemed quite weird. I'm using the Belkin N1 Vision router. While I'm able to connect to some websites like google, baka-updates, youtube and gendou, I'm unable to connect to sites like animenewsnetwork, hotmail and a few others while receiving the 'server not found' error. I received the same problem with another PC that's connected to the router. Here's a list of what I did to troubleshoot my problem... 1) Restart the router (problem not solved) 2) Restart the cable modem connected to the router(problem not solved) 3) Directly connecting my notebook to the router(problem not solved) 4) Directly connecting my notebook to the cable modem (problem solevd) 5) Restoring the router to it's previous setting via last month's backup(problem not solved) Ok, it seemed that I don't have problems visiting the sites with the 'server not found' problem when I'm connected directly to the cable modem, which gave me the idea that the router might be the source of the problem. Since I thought it might be a firmware problem, I updated the firmware from F5D8232-4_WW_1.00.08 to F5D8232-4_WW_1.00.11 (the latest one available), but the problem is still not solved and I'm at the end of my ropes here. I'm currently fishing around the net to get some answers, but I get the mentioned problem on those sites as well. So yea, need help T_T |

Maybe something is interfering with the connection... Like a cordless phone? |

Sounds like a DNS problem. Check with your ISP that you have the correct DNS server set as default. |

@Gendou-sama, I was thinking the same thing, but the DNS server is the same address I get when connected directly to the modem. I took note of the IP address, thinking the router might get wrong DNS server information but the IP addresses matched. My ISP provides Dynamic IP address fyi. I called my ISP a few moments ago just in case and they say router is connected to the correct DNS server. |

Well I am not sure if this would help but I had your router before when my microsoft router finally died. I bought a whole bunch of routers and the Belkin N1 or their Pre-N router was the first one and it kept on having disconnects and etc. I also upgraded the firmware and that did not solve the problem in fact it made it worse. In general Belkin routers are good but that model was kind of a let down. If you want a good router get a lynksis wrt54gl and do a DD-WRT flash to it. That's what i did and i am a happy camper. |

@GM, well, it's ok, for now. but it still get the mentioned problem from time to time...I've never heart of DD-WRT before, but a quick google search told me that it's a linux firmware for routers...first time I heard of that one. Anyways, I've sworn to myself never to use Linksys routers again due to bad experiences with my friend and neighbor's Linksys routers... |

okay that's understandable just like me and netgear. However, belkin's best router that i've used was their cheap 40$ one. It never had a hiccup or etc but sometimes peopel want performance over reliability. |

your service could be down or what has happend to me recently was there was not enough bps and it caused it to chugg or miss pages and not able to connect. so depending onn who ur internet supplyer is you an probably get a booster put in for free. I have time warner cable so they came and checked it out and then just put a bosster in that allows more information to be sent and received |
