A lot of people have that kind of problem. Here's a solution I found at another forum a few days ago. (by chance) --- A LOT share your problem talaga. If it just suddenly turns off, it may be a cooling problem check mo temperature ng pc mo. motherboards usually comes equpped with automatic shut-off (not shutdown) when ur CPU becomes too hot. you can change the shutoff temperature but it's better if you could just keep it cool by adding fans or cleaning out dirt from your current one (using compressed air) you can look up the temp on bios to see your current cpu temp. or you could just download a program called, motherboard monitor*. works with most motherboards (with updates) *it warns you when your pc get's too hot. i used to set it around 5 degrees before the shutoff temperature, so i know that im getting too close to the critical temperature, or it can do different functions to cool your pc down, like change fan speeds (if your computer is equipped with compatible equipments). ----- see to it that your fans are not covered with dirt inside and out also make sure your computer is properly ventilated try upgrading your fans and heat sink as well but clean it first, see if it makes a difference Credits to: dodindaga. Try to check if the CPU of the said PC is not overheated, not twicked or overclocked, and didn't experience overheating while it runs. I also experience that kind of problem a long time ago and do some system failure like Blue Screen Indicating a System Failure, Viruses, RAM or Video Card Failure, or even High Temperature can also restart your PC because of system auto-shut down if it reaches a limit Temperature. Try to diagnose your PC first before taking an action. |

Okay from experience PC shutdown usually means heat so I'd recommend to buy some compressed air and open up that rig and blow like crazy. Another reason is an electrical problem or hardware failure. It seems like your motherboard is fine if it still posts maybe go into BIOS and check your PC health and temps. Anther problem could be the power supply shorting out due to a damaged capacitor inside it or something. What you should do now is go to cheapest to expensive for fixing it. First get software like anti-virus and anti-spy ware, then compressed air and have at it, then a new power supply if it doesn't work forget it if the comps too old and get a new one. |

Your Options: 1. Open up the computer and clean out the inside with compressed air, get rid of all the dust. 2. Check the connections on all data cables and power cables connected to each device to make sure there is no dust trapped in them as this may cause an extreme heat buildup. 3. Check the motherboard and Power Supply to make sure neither is damaged or shorted out. 4. Add some more fans to your computer case:

1. make sure male and female connectors are connected 2. make sure it is clean dust can affect the hardware 3. make sure there is no spy ware adware trojan viruses ect.. if you can get that far 4.just reload windows and that will wipe every thing makeing you a clean slate |
