If you were to use japanese, which way of refering to yourself you'd use?
The ones that i know are:
Watashi
Boku
Ore
Uchi
By name
Wareware :D
well and some variations.
As for me, either "ore" or "kono ore" are best for me.

I prefer boku, but since it for a young boy use, may be I'll use ore(already got 20 man!)

Well, watashi is the most neutral of them all... and i think it's official. Probably in some kinds of japanese learning courses they're teaching everyone to say watashi. Especially to people, inspired with Akabane this word is precious :D As for me, i'm deeply inspired with Kazuma from Scryed... but that's not the reason, i'm too simple-minded and rough for any other types. Well, maybe "uchi" can be good too, if i can master osaka dialect someday :D I think they also had some kind of "wai na" or something. The only one i don't really like is "boku", when a male uses it :)

@Chalice: By the way, boku's not for young boy use as you said. It's more like for a good boy use. Like... innocent maybe :) Well, if it was for me to say: boku's gentle, while ore's berserking :) By the way, if i'm correct japanese usually stick to one style. But as i saw here, most people use two or three :) Well, of course if you're roleplaying - it's a different case :D Well, come to think of it, i HAVE an urge to use boku or watashi sometimes, but that's usually when i'm inspired with something... like after i watched Higurashi i kinda thought boku was okay with me. And as i mentioned Akabane - i thought watashi wasn't too bad either :D But still it wouldn't suit me... come to think of it plain ore's my choice, but i'm also attracted to it's self-centered variations, like ore-sama or kono ore (This me...) :) Heh... come to think of it - i haven't really heard of much watashi variations, but if it's boku there are few: boku-chan, boki(Was used by a certain guy in Sister Princess)... well, from those variations the differences between those two are obvious i think :)

BTW, why is this thread here? Shouldn't this be in the Japan section? In fact, there is a thread that talks about this very topic. Please look at it.
