last day my pc was infected with a virus which make me erase my hard disk database, but when i re-install the windows 98 my pc sound doesn't work anymore, so what should i have to do?  |

| simple, check your sound card driver. Is it installed or not? if it isn't find your cd driver and install it. |

| Yep, sounds like you don't have your sound card driver installed properly, and the best place to check this is under the "Control Panel", in the "System" icon... If you see yellow exclamation points over anything, (probably in the "Sound" or "Other Devices" categories, then something isn't installed correctly. If your PC is a store-bought one, you should have some form of CD-Rom, most likely, that will have the necessary setup files on it; If it was custom built, you should have some form of CD that came with your sound card, that should have the files on it... Even if all else fails, have a friend who is PC-saavy crack open your PC and find out what sound card is in it, and go onto the internet to the manufacturer's website to download the appropriate files by hand... |
