i was just told that the earth is the center of the universe my first reaction was to tell them BULL SH** but then they started talking to me about it and started to make me think like one of his examples were that if the universe is infinite that means it is forever expanding on all sides which means we are the center.

i bring this to you the public to learn as much as i can so i can know the truth so dont hold back in this disscussion

Every point in the universe can be regarded as the center of the universe since all points in the universe is at the same point at the moment of Big Bang.

If you accept the Theory of the Big Bang(not just some frat guy story), that you can never find the center of the Universe because the Universe is moving away from itself.

If you believe in the geocentric idea, please step out of the 16th or 17th centery Roman Catholic Church.

A bit oversimplified, but there's others who can explain it better than I ever will.

This is exactly the same as saying: apples look green, thus oranges must look blue. In other words: you're drawing conclusions about something out of something that has strictly nothing to do with it... How does the possible expansion on all sides of the universe make us the center of it? And, anyway, as far as we know, the universe is finite. If it was infinite, it wouldn't be able to still expand, now would it?

Even if it's expanding it doesnt mean it's the center.
