Having Trouble Downloading Service Pack 2
|
Every time I try to update to Service Pack 2, it comes up with an error saying "failed to install following updates: Service Pack 2"
The image “http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Naota/RockLee.jpg cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Does it successfully download the entire Service Pack 2 before installing it? Also, check your security settings in Internet Explorer... They may need set back to defaults to allow the running of Microsoft's ActiveX applets that do the actual work (check in the tools menu, under Internet Options). If all else fails, (and regardless, I would recommend this anyways to have a copy); Look on Microsoft's website for the "Order a CD" link, and have them mail you a free CD containing Service Pack 2. Not only is it easier, but you'll also have a copy, in the case you have to reinstall your PC, and don't want to mess with downloading/installing it over the web. |

from my experience (on all 3 of my rigs) just don't use SP2 if you plan on having usefullness of the net, SP2 just makes it harder to download and access stuff, although adding a very basic level of security...your choice, but my recommendation is not to install SP2 |

Why don't you download Service Pack 2 for IT Professional and Network Administrator? |
