Abortion: good or bad

I'm surprised that I did not see this controversial topic in here. hopefully it's not because this topic does not belong here. The issue at hand is that people have long resorted to many forms of contraception, such as the condom, sterilization, and one of the most controversial of them all, abortion. Abortion, by my own definition, is when you remove the unborn baby, fetus, embryo, whatever you want to call it, and kill it or something, and thus, no more baby for the pregnant mother. now, opponents of abortion state that abortion is murder. it takes away the life of another individual. people for abortion claim that it should be a women's right, and it should ultimately be up to them. in my eyes, the former tend to be religious folk. the latter, liberal. I could go further and tie this in with politics, but we'll leave that out for now. Do you think abortion is good, or bad, and why? Is it immoral? etc

having an abortion is bad (painful) for the individual. women being allowed to choose one is good for society. that's all there is to it.
