I might not get many replies here, but I might as well try it out and go for it! It's not time for me to get into college yet, but I was wondering this before it's time I do get ready to head into college (if...). Around this time of year, my class (grade) are getting ready to choose classes for next year. I don't need to take Math or a Science, but I still need English and History (wtf, History!?). I don't really have any choices left that involved graphic design/website design. I asked my web site design teacher today and he said I can repeat the same class next year. He'd give me my own assignments and I'm guessing because I will already know what to do before anyone else does... It's early to decide, but I want to get other people to do the same as well. If they find an interest on this and perhaps build on this, we can all go to the same college! But now, what I really want to know... I was wondering if anyone here is currently attending one of the Art Institutes of America? There are about 35-40 Art Institutes in America. These special colleges are built around mostly for Graphic Design and the Culinary arts. No Math or History; none of those classes are there at all. Just art! I wanted to know if anyone is currently attending one so I can pick up some early information before it's too late. Some kids I know might be heading to one after they graduate this year, but I want to know personally from someone who's been there already. If not Ai then maybe Antonelli or something very similar! I might major in Web Site Design since I'm decent with it I suppose. Maybe Graphic Design as well, but I'm not that good in Graphics and whatnot. Either one though, I want to know how's it like at Ai and some of the stuff you work on all year. I saw some of the stuff you do, and it's almost similar to what I'm doing in Photography II this year, but more advanced! If you do go to one, can you specifically explain what you do and which Ai you currently go to? I also want to know what they're looking for from HS kids before they accept them into heir academy. This might be risky since it's a pretty high ranking type of college. There's also no Japanese classes, so I have to figure that out later in life or so. Sheesh... Overall, it seems like tough work! Or maybe it's less stressful without worrying about History and all those other useless classes... ------- |
