Winter 2008 animes starting to roll out...

Sisters of Wellber Season 2 - I'm not gonna bother watching this...I thought season 1 was pretty...meh... --------------------------------- --------------------------------- Rosario + Vampire Originally from Manga (Jump) - never read the manga OP - Cosmic Love by Nana Mizuki (was played during ED; generic poppy Jpop/Anisong, nothing special to write home about imho. It's catchy and fits the anime pretty well, though ED - Dancing in the Velvet Moon (unaired as of yet) Animation quality isn't superb, lots of upskirt shots as well as cleavage...too much fan service imho (I guess it's partially due to GONZO). Basic premise is a human student ends up at a high school meant for monsters to learn to live amongst humans. First episode is just an intro with no real insight as to the plot. Might just be your generic love comedy, granted, I haven't read the manga so I could be way off here. Worth watching a few ep's before canning it. --------------------------------- --------------------------------- H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~ Originally from a Hentai game - no...i never played this... OP - 片翼ã®ã‚¤ã‚«ãƒã‚¹ (Single Winged Icarus) by Yui Sakakibara; (I'm terribly sorry if I get the cultures wrong and butchered) it's very Irish/Gaelic sounding but a very unique OP song. Definitely stands out a lot from A LOT of OP's and at the very least, it goes well with the intro preceeding the anime (more on that later). It's definitely one that I'll be snagging into my limited collection. ED - カザãƒãƒ (Kazahane) by Haruka Shimotsuki; Another generic sounding jpop/anisong...not too poppy. The opening is a Japanese translation of the Christian Poem, Footprints, EXCEPT, it stops at the point right where Jesus says that where you see only one set of footprints was where Jesus was carrying you. I don't know if that's how the series will end. However, the intro is very befitting of a rather harsh sequence of one of the heroines being bullied, as it runs while the poem is in the section talking about only one set of footprints. The characters are a little too "moe" in design for my tastes, but the story appears to be interesting. Oh...there's way too much fan service in this one too...but I guess that's what you get when you start hentai games. Basic premise: Blind student transfers into a new school where one of the female students is constantly being bullied. Blind guy wants to do something but feels powerless. Someone claiming to be a fairy/spirit/etc claims she can help the blind guy. This one is definitely worth watching, imho, unless the story takes a crummy turn. Be warned though, this might be a depressing anime to an extent for a while. I know this is a little contradictory, but it appears to be a love comedy. --------------------------------- --------------------------------- Pardon the crummy summaries Cheers |
