Gcard comparing

I was wondering for all those hard gamers out there which gcard would you guys choose. My cousin is upgrading his 8600GT but can not decide whether to buy a HD 3850, HD 3570 or a 8800GT (256mb Version). He did some research and they all throw loops around him. What would be the best choice for him would you say?

Of those three you just said, I HIGHLY recommend the 8800GT. It may be new and a little hard to find, but in terms of price to power, it's a great deal, and it definitely has a lot of performance punch. The MSRP for it is about 250 I think, but you can find it on newegg and places like that for around 220-230, and if you look REALLY hard you might find it for 200.

The ati's latest graphics cards, namely the HD series 35xx's and above have been rather disappointing compared to what they cost. Plus, vista's still having issues with ati driver compatibility from time to time.

To put it in perspective, an 8800GT with a system that's on par with it could run a game like Crysis on High and still pull about 20-30fps (on medium it can do obviously much higer, but this is the most demanding pc game out there right now keep in mind).

All of what I have just said of course is ignoring sli or crossfire, and is also ignoring the 8800GTS, 8800GTX, and 8800 Ultra series (all three of which are amazing if you can afford them).
