Chat booting
|
I found myself being repeatedly disconnected and someone keeps booting me. I have no clue why and no one will say why as no one can say anything in time before I am booted again. Some kind of boot message should be added or something as this is rather annoying... |

You have not been booted from the chat, ever. Don't jump to conclusions, okay? If you are experiencing connection troubles, I would be happy to help troubleshoot your problem. What is the nature of the disconnection? Is there an error message? |

It says connection lost right after i connect and then it sends me to the main page. There was no message that I could see (but there isn't much time as it sends you to the main page before you can see it hardly). I thougth I was being booted as I said something possibly remotely offensive that someone might and I thought that was why. It started RIGHT after that which is what got me. If you want to get on chat now I can show you what's happening. I just discovered that if I stop the page loading it stays on the chat page and will reload the chat but them promptly disconnect me a little later. |

Well thats good to know. :-) If you want to get on chat now gendou I can show you what's happening. I just discovered that if I stop the page loading it stays on the chat page and will reload the chat but them promptly disconnect me a little later. Excerpt: Connecting to the chat... Using chat client version 2.3.7 Connection established! >>> [01:24:30 AM] Ergzay has entered the chat. Connection lost! Connection established! >>> [01:24:40 AM] Ergzay has entered the chat. Connection lost! Connection established! >>> [01:24:51 AM] Ergzay has entered the chat. Connection lost! With chat stuff chopped out. That is if I hit the stop loading button before it goes back to main page so it automatically reconnects. Edit: Well scratch that. It just stopped. No clue why. Problem solved. (Oh and I have much experience with computers and use linux and know it decently well and do programming some as well, and I could not find any reason for any of this, mainly because theres isn't any information.) |

Since you say you're being sent to the main page, it is clear you're opening the chat in multiple windows/tabs. A new connection to the chat will force-cleanup any "ghosts" that are still connected. EDIT: examination of the chatd.log confirms this. |
