My and my friend HAVE started a dubbing company, for a demo we need a episode of a show an anime that has been shown on tv in ethier Japan without a lisence for America. Please help us choose and youll get a fan-dub and tell us how you fell it is before we send it to the following compaines (Help add onto this list) viz, Funimation, 4Kids(shivers at the fact).

Question: Are you allowed to send your "dubbed" anime episode to a company that doesn't even know about the anime yet?

Not sure if this is okay or not, but to me it sounds wrong and even illegal.
Just curious here, but I like your idea of starting your very own dubbing company for anime.

i think he means a show that is not licensed by US companies...i dunno but i think its not illegal...

well IMO i think you SHOULD use the shows own by those companies just to show them how
better your dub is than the Dubbers they use ^_^

I have to say, american dubbers suck. Either that or the voice actors do. The cast is practically never chosen to be as similar to original jap dub and it's the prime reason as to why I dont by dvds and rely more on fansubs.

BUT anyway, there are alot of anime that arent licenced yet. Take claymore as an example :D

My question would be, do you actually see a possibility in this path? fandubbing's become more of a 'fan' thing than an actual career path (as much as I'd like it to be =___= GSD english cast pissed me off so bad)

we could join :D I just recently got a band of friends who are agreeing to try fandubbing a try. Once I get money for a proper mic, I'm in XD

Yeah I just wasn't 100% sure; it just sounded a bit weird to me.
There are a bunch of dubbers online that aren't dubbing as a career, that are even better than the ones we're accustomed to.

Quote, "we just do this for fun." You should show us some of your works before sending them in.
Feedback from friends or a close community of people is a good idea to focus on before sending the final thing into the big guys.

a good example of fan dubs being better are the naruto abridge series...sure its more of a parody/in joke but the dubs actually fit most of the characters and definitely sound better than the Us dub of naruto...

depending, I guess, if your fandub is broadcasted wide enough and people like it more than the US dub the companies may actually give you a chance. But just sending in a sample like this isnt going to work. Like Devils-angel said, you should show us or a large community/friends the dubs before you send it to the companies.

Youtube'd be a good starting place, from there link to smaller and related communities. It'd be long but if you're dedicated enough, it might just work.
