Game recommendation

Hello, I'm new to the forums and I was wondering if there was a good rpg or srpg for pc out there that anybody'd like to recommend. I loved the Disgaea games (as everyone should...whoever doesn't is dead to me) and lots of rpgs for the ps2, but I'm at university now and I can't bring it along, that and emulators for ps2 suck.

If anybody knows a good game, do tell, I probably won't play it much since there is a lot of work to be done, but it is something to kill a little free time.

grandia II was made for the pc if you can find it... if you haven't played that then its kinda sad... i think its as great as FF7 ... which is also on the PC by that matter... so is ff8 if i remember.. to bad i don't have that one...sigh...
theres also PSU (phantasy star universe)the single player is free.. multi player costs...

and no i haven't played disgaea ..i've heard of it.. but i haven't played it.. (i don't have the moneys for too many great games)...

i wish i knew of more rpgs for the pc, myself... that aren't MMOrpg's or old DOS...
if you want a game to waste time and thats all.. i'd play a free mmorpg.. the story's are practically nonexistent but.. it wastes time..and costs 0$...

If you have a high-end computer (at least loaded with a 7000series Nvidia video card or 19XX - 2XXX ATi vid card and 2GB of RAM, and a dual-core processor)

Bioshock

Otherwise, Neverwinter Nights is pretty good.

I don't particularly like rpgs unless they use the RTCS (Real Time Command System) like Kingdom Hearts and God of War.

For a sci-fi rpg adventure and action game:

STALKER is pretty good. But you'll need 7800+(Nvidia), 1900+(ATi) video cards to run that game with some low to medium settings.

Heh I have a new computer but only nvidia 7400 since its a laptop, but still...bioshock has things in it that are kinda...wrong..."cough little sisters cough" so I think I'll pass on that. I actually don't like real time command systems since they're too sluggish, though devil may cry is one of the exceptions. I've actually played grandia 2, and i have grandia 3 too, but that is kinda slow, beautiful but slow. FF7...everyone played that already. I played 8 a long time ago...it is kinda crappy in comparison to other FF games in gameplay, but has one of the best stories ever. I also have PSU on my ps2...not a bad game. Anyways that about covers it.

The only reason I have so many games for ps2 is cause...i kind of altered a few things...not mod chip mind you...but something else

heheh, different dvd drive or did you add a hard drive? I'm guessing that's what you did to your PS2.

Anyways, a 7400 card...
Good for modern rpgs though.

I'm using a 8600 GS on the Asus F3SV-B1 laptop. The card is upgradeable (because it's a dedicated card). Yours should be upgradeable too. However upgrading means higher temperatures in the laptop if it doesn't have a good ventilation.

If you like MMOrpgs, something from gPotato will work like Rappelz, Space Cowboy or Flyff. You can have my Space Cowboy acc if you want. I haven't been on for a year lol. It's a lvl 43 I Gear.
There's Maplestory... but people on there are such fags lately.

There's Guild Wars, free online gameplay, but you'll need to buy the game.
And if you're into it, World of Warcraft.
