Rebuild of Evangelion

I'm not sure if this is considered old news, but I tried searching and I couldn't find any topic on this, so I'm making this one. Remember what Sunrise did for 'Zeta Gundam' with 'Zeta Gundam: A New Translation' recently? Well, Gainax is jumping on the remake band wagon and voila, we get 'Rebuild of Evangelion'. And here we have 2 trailers. Trailer 1 And Trailer 2 Based on what I've gathered, it's yet another retelling of the old Evangelion story. But this time, instead of 2 highly condensed movies, we get FOUR slightly less condensed movies. Fully fleshed out with new 2D and CG 3D animation. The first 3 movies are said to be retellings of the old story, while the forth movie is supposed to be another alternate ending. I know, I know. ANOTHER alternate ending. I can already here some people saying "WTF? Another one?" in my head. But, to be honest, I'm kinda excited over the new animation and getting a chance to see Shinji and the whole whiny, dysfunctional gang again. The first movie has already been released in Japan. Here's to hoping it won't take long before the rest of us outside Japan will get it too. Plus, Gendou will have new 'push up specs' animation now, as can be seen in the trailer =P |

Some people have seen movie 1, and apparently there are slight differences. Enough to give you a different view of how things unfold. And nobody knows what this new alternate ending is gonna be, because only the first of the 4 movies has been released in Japan. The second one isn't due til sometime in 2008. While the 3rd and 4th, which are gonna be released simultaniusly, don't even have a release YEAR. |

Gainax is taking it slow...meaning there will be time to produce more merchandise, and more of us spending money(including me ,lol!) |

Some Older fans were pretty much in a fit because Asuka has not appeared in any trailers for the first movie and are assuming that she was removed... However since there are 3 more movies that will follow doesn't mean that Asuka is gone...  Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

| Asuka appeared very very late in the original series anyway considering she's one of the main characters. So I'm not too surprised that she didn't appear in the first movie at all. I'm sure she'll appear eventually. |

Some actually say it's a continuation of the End Of Evangelion. But, Old news is olddddddddddddddddddd. We now have new news that's newwwwwwwwwwwwww. As for release on DVD: "In Japan, "Evangelion: 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone: Limited Design Edition" is to be released in April 25, 2008 and also "Normal Edition" in May 21. The number "1.01" means that pictures, editings and sounds of Eva: 1.0 are finely tuned for DVD by Anno. The release of a Blu-ray Disc version is not scheduled at this time." - Wikipedia.org As for international release: "No official statements have been made as of yet regarding the licensing and international release of the films, leaving fans only to speculate as to which companies officially release them. I'm surprised that this thread still exists =P Its nice to see that the DVD release will be out soon. I live in Malaysia but I couldn't go down to Singapore to catch their release since I was having my midterms at the time if I remember correctly =( Btw, that trailer isn't exactly an 'official' trailer. Some guy went and took footage from all trailers and teasers released thus far and spliced them together with a little bit of footage from the original series mixed in. |

I guess all that's left for those of us who haven't seen it is to wait for a couple more days. And, oh... wow... You're name actually IS Someguy??? But my stand stays. It's an unofficial trailer made by 'some OTHER guy' =P |
