Purpose

We are all born into this world unknowing what it holds for us, but we must ask ourselves these questions Why was I born and what purpose will my actions leave on this world? What will my life by worth when I become old and forgotten as the hands of time take its toll and become part of unknown history? All of us at one point had to question our existence at one time or the other in our life. But do we ever live our dreams or just become one of the masses of this world. Most will work a job they hate and die a little every day until we become empty shells of what we originally were. We all must live our lives by given rules from first our parents, then teachers, future bosses and then the laws of society until we died. When we will gain control of our existence and be the person we are without become corrupted by the sins of the world. Will be the same person in 20 years or will we look back at ourselves and see strangers.
The only thing a person needs to survive in this world is him self. Being heartless has it advantages.

What I am trying to ask is will we sacrifice our dreams and belief and sell out to the world. By losing our selves in the process. Such taking a job you hate just so you can survive finically. I am asking if users believe in 20 years when they look back at themselves. Would they see a younger version of themselves or a stranger who looks like them?
The only thing a person needs to survive in this world is him self. Being heartless has it advantages.

What is purpose is my life? That is a common question that comes to mind when a person reaches the crossroad of his/her life. They begin to ask themselves questions such as: "why am i here?", "what must i do in this life?", "what is the meaning of life?", "what are my goals and aspirations that will fufill the purpose of my life?". All these questions are asked because in the unconscious part of our minds, we always seek our true purpose for existing. Is it to protect? Is it to hope? Is it to make new inventions to benefit the society or the economy? This question regarding purpose may even be asked when one is under heavy stress and finds that their life is becoming meaningless. Purpose itself is elusive. Many people would tend to spiritual or intellectual means to discover their own purpose. More often than not, they even turn to the mysteries of astrology when other means fail to provide them with the satisfactory answer. In my view, this is the hardest question that any of us would have to answer. As for me, i realise that my purpose is to protect. I have yet to discover what i must protect for that matter. ^^ To all of you who wish to know the purpose, i have one thing to say: This question takes a long time to answer. A very long time. Some may even depart from this world without realising their own purpose. It is a question that puzzles the many and can often lead to limitless possibilities and consequences. My advice: take you time to seek it out. Jus for ur info, i spent the past 10 yrs searching for this purpose since i was only at an age of 7. O.o ^^  |

I think I replied to another thread like this but... Hm...purpose in life is to live. Live life to its greatest. Of course suffering is part of life, but hey, what about all the good times? Although I am not religious, I tend to think of everyone as equal beings with equal oppurtunities depending on the situation. Like in the Muslim world, all are seen equal in the eyes of Allah no matter his or her status. So really, just enjoy the roller coaster of life. Actions will only contribute to this still developing world. You were given life to live. Without life, you wouldn't be living. 
So I drove into a parking lot one time and saw this person pull into a handicap parking spot. When you think handicap, you think wheelchair and whatever, right? So it just ticked me off when I saw the guy come out of the car perfectly fine. So then I ran him over. |

There is no purpose...and when you say selling out, yes you do that in life, you do what you gotta do to survive, and try to have some fun while you're at, that's my view on it at least  |

Well, there could be many interpretations of this: -My purpose is to eat, sleep, marry, raise kids and die. -My purpose is to serve a higher purpose hitherto unknown to me. -My purpose is to exist, to live on. -My purpose is to propagate the human race in general, and my family line in particular. my purpose is to live my existance well and impact the lives of those around. whether that's a good or bad impact, well...heheheh.

My purpose is memetic legacy. I stumbled upon martial arts at a young age and there is just something in me, deep in what I call my soul that tells me that's what I'm meant for. I may not know entirely, nor shall I know when I am to fulfill said purpose but I know it's within the martial arts. In the meantime I carry ancient traditions and newfound ideas and merge them and create culture. I then pass that culture to my students who in turn do the same as me. Career and society aside, that is my path. It may be that it is the ultimate goal, just another way to pass on after death. Who knows, just some random thoughts.  |

Purpose? The thing that drives us to what we want to achiueve. The thing that we make for ourselves so we have a small glint of hope in this dark and sin tainted world. I'm still looking for mine. I used to have a prupose but I lost track of it after a chain of events so I'm pretty much looking for it. *sigh*  ...*silence* |

I think this topic is very self-explanatory for me since my beliefs about the purpose of life is pretty much the same as most people here. However, the people who actually can truly judge you as a person (and your reasons/purposes) will be the future generation, for example, your kids.  |

Looking back at my childhood, it would hurt to know that I didn't want my life to end up like this. But sometimes, I also wonder that maybe I was wrong in my youth days, and maybe what I'm doing now is what I wanted to believe as 'freedom'. And kids, don't waste your life searching for the real purpose of your life. If there is a purpose, it will come to you on its own.  |

Well i think Emphy is right. It is a waste to think about the purpose of life because everybody has got his own purpose. We all live in different countries and cultures. So thats why there are also different purpose. But on the other isn´t our biological purpose to keep human´s race alive and make new humans? o.O Well, I shouldn´t think about it too much -__-""  |

My eternal destiny... I would have to say, that is to change the world. I can feel it. I'm going to do something some day that will alter the world(s) we know to something unknown. I will delve into the darkness and unknown that human kind has so long feared and from that I will make cyan into red, positive into negative, and darkness into light. That is my destiny. Ahh the old meaning of life question... I think the meaning of life is to reproduce. As simple as that sounds it's basically the most important thing you can do. |
