Well, I was wondering, what do you think of Rouge Galaxy? I think it has good graphics. I like this game. |

I am not sure how far you are into the game, so I'll try not to spoil anything. Though I liked the game as it started out, as time went on, I found myself getting more annoyed. Jaster, for me, seemed to be a generic care bear, always trying to do the right thing. (It may be that games like Oblivion and KOTOR have changed my out lookout on how main characters should be) As for the rest of the characters, I could never get "emotionally involved" (whatever that means) with them or the story that matter. Most of the playable characters became unoticable as they became phased out of the storyline. Most of the game I forgot that I could switch characters because I had completely forgot they even existed. I did like how they covered all their backrounds though. The battle system was quite fun, kinda like a step foward from FF XII's battle system. One thing I absolutly hate is the stupid revelation system, which also reminded me of FF XII (and I hated it in that game too), but it is something that just doesn't work. If someone actually likes this system, I'd love to hear from you. Overall, it isnt a bad game, and the fact that it came near the end of the Ps2's era, doesn't really help either. |

Oh, come on! You couldn't get emotionally involved? What about when the girl... Damn! What was her name? She had blue hair... First time you saw her you thought she was gonna become the generic girlfriend character, but then she went all military on that guy, um... What was his name? He had red hair... (goes on for an hour because he can't remember Karen and Ethan's names) Other than the forgettable characters, it was a good game. If you've gotten to the end, I exclaim, NOT A SPOILER!!!!!!!, there's a synthesis chip that's a dual-sword type, Death Dancer. At the time I got it, it wasn't available in stores, but it was worth all of the material converters to get it. I think they're material converters... I rented the game two months ago and killed it. |

@Karasu Of course he couldn't get emotionally involve Karen and Ethan because that's a completely different game. You are mixing up Rogue Galaxy with Phantasy Star Universe |

I thought I'd try and bump the topic for one of the most epic games around that no one has heard of, hahaha. Making my top 10 and possibly top 5 with ease, Rogue Galaxy has one of the best stories out there -- and one of the top battle systems of the PS2 and Xbox Generation. The weapons and such you can create make you pretty excited, especially when something big is made. ( Desert Seeker III + Lvl 26 or Hgher Sword = ROCK CRUSHER ) At least, If I remember right that's the name of that sword, haha. A full 373 Points of pure awesomness in attack power will own anything ~ But as far as Jaster goes and all, Jaster is a pretty awesome character. When his past is explored, he's pretty deep, and the lie he lives for the first parts of the game pretending to be "Desert Claw" are pretty cool. The other characters doooo seem faded out a good bit near the end, but the game works to involve them more and more as the game comes to a close -- including the epic final battles that involve every single character. Anyway, perhaps someone will respond to this and we can get this thing going again ~ |
