sorry! oh man, that was a close call... you see i am adding fields to the user info database, but i have to update each perl script to handle the modification. you accessed user.cgi when it wasnt equipt to handle the new user data and so it gave garbage information. i should install some on/off switch....so i can do updates without risking the corruption of the entire bbs's database! O_o; i added a feature so that you have to click on a link via email to activate your account. still working on it actually. also, soon you will be able to get emails containing replies of your posts (optional of course) ![]() ![]() ![]() |

!-UPDATE-! there is now a search feature, yeay! (no its not coded in php, the only reason the doc is called search.php is that i have to execute the login script somehow) p.s. if your wondering why there is no "search by author" field like there is in many other boards, you can just look at their user profile. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

the backslash looks like a yen symbol () because of the text encoding. if anyone knows a better one (for japanese) let me know. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

there was a nasty bug (total lack of foresight on my part) involving email confirmations for new users. it was supposed to email you with an activation code but the emails were being denied because i was using the wrong email server! it worked in vitro but not in vivo. httpd is running on a different machine than the one i ssh into, so the mail was refusing to relay the messages ... if that means anything to you. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
