About 7 years ago, I used to have an eMachines with Windows XP on it. Just last year about August, I got an HP model with Windows XP on it as well. Neither of them I bought service plans. But recently, my HP is acting up the same way my eMachines did a couple years ago. What it'd do is start, but then outta random restart and it'll keep restarting until I pull the plug on it. I've never downloaded from any sites onto it (unknown sites, torrents, etc.) but sometimes I have put cracked programs onto it I got from another computer. Programs such as AnyDVD (to remove region restriction on DVD-ROM) and Finale Notepad (to write sheet music with). Either there is a conspiracy here that jsut because I didn't buy their service plans, or is that a virus? It doesn't seem like anything i can do to back up my HP. I'm trying my best to figure out something to get everything backed up. |

It's not happening anymore so it's fine right now. Opened the side of it and found all this dust in it. By what they said, it was a LOT. Luckily we have an air compressor and blew away all the dust. Now, the fan doesn't make any noise and it's running fine. I didn't think dust really can do that much. But for 2 days already and no problems. |

Indeed. Dust DOES make a huge difference. Your computers were probably overheating. |
