Media Player Video Conversion
Link | by Frost-Heart on 2007-07-15 03:53:29
Hi all. I recently bought a 2gb Gigatech MP3/4 Player and for the last couple of days, i've been trying to get my anime .avi files to work on it. I've tried a couple of conversions, but they don't work, all i get is a 'File Format Error' or some such. I was wondering if someone could help me get the conversion thing right?

Here's some info on some sample video files, using GSpot:
File already on Player: Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Non-cnverted file on my computer: Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Converted file on my computer: Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If you need any more information, i'd be happy to provide it. Thanks in advance to any help i can get XD

mp4 players usually can't play avi format files. you need to convert that file to mp4 format for it to work. try googling for an mp4 converter.

Yeah, the first time i tried to convert it, i converted to mp4, but it didn't even show up. This one only plays .avi files, as far as i'm aware...

i meant it's model number and other stuff. there's lots of mp4 players under Gigatech, and each one is different...

Hi, er, im not so good either in converting player, but i need to know what did you really want to do,
a)Are you trying to convert .avi file into .mp4 file?
b)are you converting .mp4 file to .avi file?
c)are you using this software as a player?(to play .avi file of to play as .mp4?)
d)Are the problem realated to codecs while converting?
e)Are the conversion success but you failed to open the convert file due to codec error?

solution =>
a) If you cant convert it, try using ImTOO3gp software, you can convert any file(include .flv) to .mp4 file.
b) Same like answer a).
c) I dont really found out about that, sorry.
d) Try installing other codecs within the software, some software only install typical codecs they use(regular one), while the file might need codecs that you dont install.
e) Which mean, you haven't install the codecs needed for Media Player to open it(if you're open it using Windows Media Player)

Others =>
Try stating your problem a bit more clear, i might find the answer later(although i'm not very good in it.)

Also, if you really desperate in converting some files, i might have some software to share. Those can convert almost all extension to another you want. I'll upload them later on, but some might have big file(>50mb) so i not sure if any server can give free service on uploading them. However, you might want to download them by yourself, WinAvi converter, ImTOO3gp converter, SWFconverter, others.. I'll give the crack version to you, or share the keygen..(just dont tell microsoft on this or i'll be damned, haha)
