Well, there are millions and millions of other life forms on this planet. You can see them almost anywhere you look. You are coated in microscopic life right now. Or did you mean in the universe? Statistically, it would be very surprising if this little dirtball was the only place life arose. The universe is a big place. {although I suppose the Vatican would be happy.} Cold Truths And Warm Memories |

statistically speaking, there is a noteworthy chance that other intelligent life exists that may be able to communicate with us. one main difficulty is time. we do not know how long the average civilization capable of radio communication survives. the technological adolescence may be a gating factor in the number of civilizations that arise capable of such communication. also, we don't know how likely it is that life starts, given a planet close to the likes of Earth. it could be that the beginning of life is extremely rare, making us unique in the entire universe. myself, i doubt this very much. it could also be that civilizations keep to themselves, for fear of being taken over or something like that. blah blah blah. go read some Carl Sagan. |

The universe is so huge. It's goes on farther then anyone can guess. (In my opinion) To think that we are alone and special in this huge place and think it's all about us, is very self centered and unrealistic.

Dark Stranger, are you high? First off, your argument of personal incredulity carries NO WEIGHT. As for the universe, it is finite and it's size is easily determined! Cosmic background radiation from the early universe has traveled 78 billion light years. This is the current radius of our expanding universe. You might wonder how this can be, given that the universe is only 13.7 billion years old? The answer lies in the fact that the universe is, in fact, expanding. I feel that this is the truth, as stated by Gill Grissom (CSI:): "If there is any life out there, it is certainly wise enough to stay away from us." Humans are likely the most dangerous beings in the universe. We are simply unwilling to adapt to situations presented before us, and instead try to make everything work out in our favor. We destroy anything that we see as unnecessary or threatening. In many aspects of our culture, the humans have to dominate in everything we have a say in. We simply cannot coexist with other lifeforms, since we will try to "enslave" them or destroy them, as is portrayed in video games and movies. Any life off of our planet would do wise to stay away from us. |

aww Mega zero took my quote =/ Far as I'm concerned humans are like paracites and are to be avoided lol Otherwise speaking there have been too many 'weird' sightings and so fourth (crop circles, etc) for anyone to really say absolutely not. |

Yes and no. yes becuse i do believe that there is life other than humans. it would be illogicl and to be honest stupid if we were the only things living in the whole universe. i regard my beliefs in this as within psychichs who could sense other energy sources. no becuase most things end up illogical and stupid anyway. if something else did exist and hasnt found a way to get to us yet it means either we are very scary or they are dumber than us ............................................................................................yes dumber than a race that hates itself. ....i dont see it happening s for the 13.7 billion year theory i agree with most of that theory but the biggest disbelief in that is the data used to analyse and find all that data ws taken from circumstantial evidence becuase not even now do scientist know how far accurately cosic radiation is capable of travelling before losing itts original traits |

personally, i dont believe in other life in other far of stranded planet or something. :P The possibility for life being generated is just too low... so... thats my stand and explaination :d as for the finite unerverse thing... i wonder what will happen when u reach the end... snap out of existance? or is it like a 'hard wall of inpragnables"? sorry about my bad spelling A friend of today is an enemy of tomorrow. Given the sheer size of the universe, there must be some sort of life out there. When people think about "other life forms" pictures of horrid alien creatures are usually quick to pop in their minds (including my own) but surely there has to be some more "relaxed" life forms out there, such as insects or something that could look like them at least. |

You hold a valid point, dolphindk. We could live in a universe similar to the Star Trek franchise. If there were life out there, there could be hostile races unwilling to cope with other life (us), or there could be races that simply want peace between all forms of life. But, I stand by my previous statement. |

I'd love to think there's something else out there, but there have been zero evidence so far, and the likelihood we'll find any in our lifetime is miniscule.

well sure, but that really isn't important imo. I think a more revelant question is, how likely is it that we will come into contact with those other lifeforms? Very unlikely, the universe is a big place, so if we never meet anyone else, it may just as well be as that they didn't exist. No rudeness intended, that's just my thoughts on the issue. |

i think that there is something but what xD, it is so huge ill think we will never going to see it all. we are able to live on this planet, so there will be another planet where are some signs of life i think ><..... But we will See ^^ |

It's not a matter about how we feel about ourselves (am I alone?), but whether there are other forms of life in the universe. I still say yes, and that life is smart enough to stay away from us. |

Some confidence, I'd love to see the look on ur face when we got pawned by some giant aliens with countless battleships and freaking advanced technology. Just kidding ^^, but if they could notice our existence b4 we do, and even travel such a long way, which we can't anytime soon, we'd be in real trouble. Not even our viciousness and selfishness can help us then. However, if they're just some gentle helpless small dudes, I do agree with you. After all, we're capable of all evil deeds, and for that I salute mankind. But wouldn't it be simpler for us if there were no other life forms? After all there's no such thing as a friend forever; a war/massacre is almost inevitable. So instead of imagining all these aliens crossing galaxies somewhere out there in the universe, we should be grateful that we've survived so far and thus spend more time on the environment, poverty-relieving... or go extinct before they could even pay us a visit. |

It depends on what type of life do you mean? If you are asking about life that is intellegent that is something I love to think about and hope there is. The Universe is huge and life can most likely exsist somwhere else or have other planets that can support life. As to though if there truly is other intellegent life forces we might not ever know. Atleast not in our life time. Maybe, years from now, Someone might find or prove that there is in fact some intellegent thing. But aslo there are microscopic life on other plantes. So that means that there is other life in The Universe. |

We are not alone. Most likely. It's just because space is so big. But there is a limit to how big our universe is, as the book Flatland states. |
