hmm...why don't we try the following: 1)Do a virus scan. there might be viruses lurking in your PC somewhere and is consuming your resources or causing your PC to shut down automatically 2)Do a spyware and adware scan. I recommend using Adaware and Spybot to scan for them. These spyware and adware might also be the cause of your PC slowing down or shutting down 3)Once you've all of the above, it's time to repair your registry!! Why repair? We sometimes tend to install softwares to try them out but then decides to uninstall them. When you uninstall these software, the uninstaller wizard claims that all the files has been deleted, which might not be true since there might still be some things in the registry left, which in turn, causes the PC to slow down sometimes. Refer to the following link: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/How_to_clean_the_Windows_registry_after_uninstalling_old_Java_versions just follow the instruction to use RegSeeker. Don't worry, even though it said add to cart, it's still downloadable. |

1. Sometimes, my pc shut downs without any notice. Maybe it's a virus. If yes, do a virus scan. Or, maybe your Windows just crashed. Or maybe hardware problems. 2. My pc slows down after sometime of playing games on it. Either there are so many program running or malwares or you have to upgrade your RAM. 3. While infront of my pc, my pc just beeped once and after an hour it beeped twice.... It's normal. Usually. The codename's r3ck0rd. Find me in my Facebook Profile Page, or in my blog.

Reformat doesn't always solve the problem. The codename's r3ck0rd. Find me in my Facebook Profile Page, or in my blog.

reformat should solve most if not all Windows-related problems, not hardware ones though. But I'll keep reformat as my last option. Do you know when did this started? If it's not too distant in the past you can try to use system restore, in case you accidentally made any harmful system changes. But yeah try scanning for virus and spyware with up to date AV and anti-spyware programs. Abrupt shutting down of PC ( I mean, the PC suddenly powered down - not a BSOD event or a crash) might be due to your PSU or fan. Try checking it, or underclock your CPU to reduce power consumption ( and thermal output). |

Do scanning first to some virus, or worms in your system. If the problem doesnt fix on this method, do those methods for checking wire connection: 1. Remove the power supply cord that is attach in your motherboard. 2. Remove the power connector that is connected to your hard disk. 3. Kindly check the attachments (Power Switch and Restart Switch) in your motherboard. 4. Check your CPU and/or motherboard if it is working properly. 5. This is not recommended, unless you hear a beeping sound after you do 1 to 4 of the following solutions, switch places the RAM from it's previous slot. Then check your graphics card if it is firmly attach to your motherboard and monitor (Hehehe! I almost forgot this step because it is uncommon to use). After doing some or all the following to your computer. Turn your Computer on. If it doesn't turn on, try to remove the IDE Connector and the Power Connector of your hard disk and pug it again after 5 minutes and turn it on. After that do this for Colling, Connection Support, and Stability. 1. Better to open the CASE of your System Unit 2. Put it beside the wall or even a place with side support and ensuring it that it will be stable and not easilly be shaked. 3. Check regurarlly the CPU FAN and the Air flow in your computer. 4. Check your Power Supply that is firmly attach to the motherboard. 5. Be sure that the CPU is not loose-attach in the PINS of your Motherboard (not recommended in Pin-less Processor). I am lasy typing what I post previously, so I just cut and paste it from this forum tread in gendou: http://gendou.com/forum/thread.php?thr=16314 http://gendou.com/forum/thread.php?thr=16115 If you want to understand what's the meaning of the BEEPS in your computer, read the links inside my Webpages. http://www.freewebs.com/valley-of-thorns/Articles/CA3.htm NOTE: If you want to enhance your knowledge in computer troubleshooting, don't make it easy by formatting always your Hard disk without trying to fix the real problem of your PC. It is easy to reformat your PC, but it is hard to back-up files or recover the files that was lost after formatting. |
