VB 2005 problem

i currently just started using c# in vb 05, previously i was doing like webapps and c programming, but recently i've not been able to create a new windows app in c# language, when i click on it theres not even an attempt to start up a new project. the status bar just reads "creating project.... project creation failed" anyone know how to get around this problem? i tried to google for solutions but couldnt find any that solved this. willing to try any solutions that would not require a fresh install as much as possible, cuz i need my lappie for work as well as for school, and my work only requires web apps
