Help with Corel Painter Essentials 2
Link | by Mushy on 2007-04-17 10:08:30
Hello ^_^

I'm really sorry if this is the wrong category to post this message in but I have a problem.

I was drawing a picture on Corel Painter. I'd been working on it for at least 2 hours and when I clicked save the whole program closed and when I try to open my file it says 'Bad RIFF data.'

Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? Or is my picture well and truly gone?

Thank you for your time.

I don't know if you just choose Typical Installation or Custom Full Installation when you are installing Corel Painter. If you miss install a file or portion script needed by Corel Painter, this will cause this (So always install it FULL, not Typical Install Procedure).

But if you're using a Corel Painter 9 (Trial or Full Version), there is some abnormalities when saving a RIFF Format because it cause some errors in images after reopening them. Try to use "Iterative Save" to your project or save it to another File format instead of .RIFF.

That's the only thing that I can do to your problem because I just encounter it once when I use my Corel Painter 8.0 and I accidental fixed it and I forgot how did I fix it by my self.
