Who is your favorit anime/manga artist?

I am a sucker for artwork. That is the first thing that atracts me to a series. Which is your favortie artist? Mine is Kaori Yuki. She is wonderfully detailed and realisitc. I have read all of her stuff and never been disappionted. Number two, Sanamai Matoh. Wonderfully, drawn. Her Yaoi series FAKE is gorgeous and her nw series By the Sword is just as good. So what do you think? Who is your favorite artist?

Mine is Gosho Aoyama ( Detective Conan ) . His later drawings for Detective Conan were great! I also like Hiromu Arakawa ( Fullmetal Alchemist )

In no special order: Nihei Tsutomu(Blame!,Biomega) Hisaya Nakajou(Hanakimi)-->her male charas are sooo hot!! >.< Aya Kano(kokoro ni hana, steel flower) Kasuragi Toshiki(shounen shinkaron) i also like Obata Takeshi artwork as well Yoshitaka Amano(Vampire Hunter D) am quite amazing at how much manga Kaori Yuki spits out on a regular basis! |

My fav anime/manga artists has GOT 2 be:- 1. Watase Yuu (Her bishonen drawings R 2 DI3 4!! She is the ULTIMATE shoujo mangaka!!) Works: Ayashi no Ceres, Fushigi Yuugi, Zettai Kareshi,Imadoki,Alice 19th, Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden. 2. Arina Tanemura (KAWAII!!!! Her drawings are damn cut3 [the eyes take about 43% of the face] and her story line is really good!!) Works: Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Shinshi Doumei Cross, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, I.O.N. 3. Mizuto Aqua (Big round of applause to her as well coz she can draw characters with BOTH good looks AND cut3n3ss [though not as good-looking is Watase's and as cut3 as Arina's]) Works: Milk Crown, Milk Crown Lovers, Milk Crown H, Wanted. ^^ |

in no particular order and just to name a few great mangaka, hayao miyazaki, yuu watase, kaori yuki, naoki urasawa, clamp, miwa shirow. osamu tezuka was a better storyteller than a graphic artist imo, but it'd be ungrateful not to mention the godfather of manga. for anime, miyazaki and range murata have my definite votes, as well as all artists who've worked with bones, especially akihiro yamada. and out of nostalgia, akira toriyama and fujiko fujio (hiroshi fujimoto and motoo abiko) - dr. slump and doraemon were my tv staples as a tot =). |
