im not sure what msi.dll does, but it is essential for installation. U might exprience some errors like msi.dll when u try to install when msi.dll is missing or corrupt. So i think msi.dll is a componant file required for downloads. Basically .dll files are driver files. Its act kind of like a decoder (in a way) Without driver files, a programme cant run. For example, u need graphic driver files for ur display card in order to see 'things' on the moniter. A friend of today is an enemy of tomorrow. I am an empty shell. I don't feel loved at all |

oh yea, make sure that the service called 'Windows Installer' is stopped and set to 'Disabled'. once you did this, restart your PC. lessee...before download, try the following: 1)fo to:http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm and download RegSeeker 2)use that tool to clean your registry. this site shows you how to use it: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/How_to_clean_the_Windows_registry_after_uninstalling_old_Java_versions 3)restart PC. check if the error is still there. if not, go to the steps below replacing msi.dll 1)insert your WinXP cd 2)open the cd folder 3)head to the folder called i386 4)search for msi.dll (use the search function for this one) 5)head to your windows folder in C: 6)look for msi.dll. once you found it, copy that file and paste it to your desktop(backup purposes, just in case) 7)copy the msi.dll from the i386 folder of your cd . paste in into the folder that contained the original msi.dll (not the one on the desktop). when asked if you want to overwrite the file or anything, click yes. 8)remove cd from drive 9)restart pc 10)check if you still got that error, if it's still there, then go the the site below. copy the msi.dll file from the msi.zip you downloaded and paste it to the windows folder 11)restart PC 12)check if it work or not http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msi |
